oh! one of my favourite bassplayers has joined them. wakazaemon! singer is amazing too. and lisa x and hazuki too. love it. btw: so impressive how these awesome female musicians work together in several projects beside their main bands and how amazing these projects can be. but sometimes they tent to be overlooked. so pls allow me to recommend to you a project with tamu, waka and misaki on gtr and voc. the song is on murata tamus yt channel and is called "ONE OK ROCK/Wherever you are cover". it might not be the hardest one, but very beautyful. hope, you like it.

You are very much on top of it to get to this so quickly! Someone already noted that the bassist is Wakazaemon. The drummer is Kanade Sato, which makes this band a genuine supergroup. Sato is following in the footsteps of the incomparable Senri Kawaguchi, playing a lot of jazz and fusion, but is also doing rock and metal--busy young lady (she is only 21). I knew this band existed but had forgotten about it. Thanks to your Lisa-X reaction, I now remember and have ANOTHER great band to listed to. I REALLY hope this line-up becomes "permanent" as even on a relatively simple and really fun song like this, the talent just EXPLODES forth. Great band! Thanks much, RC! 🕊

Awesome, It's a great catchy song, Lisa & Hazuki keep the guitar flow coming. Nice touch with the cowbell, I want more of though. I was happy to see that they released these songs, I hope there is more. At the time of this concert Kanade sato was not an official member of the band, currently she plays in 2 other bands that I know of. Kanade sato is one of Japan's most famous drummers, she has been making videos on KZread for over 13 years starting at age 6. Wakazaemon is part of East of Eden and she plays on tour with Marty Freidman. She played the whole Koiai show reading the music off a lighted stand, which is why it looks like she is looking downward to her left the whole song. I guess she didn't have enough time to memorize or rehearse the songs.

Their live Blu-ray is awesome. Just before bedtime I popped it in and ended up watching the whole disc. Very beautiful as I love them, a collision of talent.

Loved the reaction. It's been said that Lisa-X was tutored by Paul Gilbert himself. That would explain the heavy '80s influence. I can hear a lot of Gilbert influence in her playing style.

I love watching these two guitarists develop as musicians, Hazuki has a very nice sound now, she has had some great chops for awhile and Li-sa-X is starting to get her own sound, great! also that rhythm section is world class, and I like Kotono, she will only get better!

If The Aristocrats invites them to open for them, you got my double thumbs up. I hope Waka-san will be a permanent fixture with Koiai. Btw, they seem to span the genres, which is great! Man, next time I go to Tokyo they will be on the watch list, Po!

I must admit that I don't know all the members of this group, but having Lisa-x, Hazuki and Kanade Sato among them is a guarantee of very high quality.

Guitarist Li-saX & Hazuki (guitarist for Nemophila) were in the Li-sa-X band with with Rina. Who had a beautiful singing voice. Rina didn't want to be in a band no more. That band broke up & Li-sa X & Hazuki started KOIAI with a lead singer & a drummer. Bass right now will be a side/touring musician. KOIAI had toured a few shows in Japan & India (Feb 2023). They put out an EP. Working on a second. At the same time. Hazuki is rearranging Nemophila from a two guitar driven band to a one guitar driven band. Ever since Saki left (Mar 2024). Just hope Hazuki doesn't burn out. Cause if she chooses one band. She'll choose KOIAI. Since Hazuki & Li-za-X mesh togeter very well. Better than Hazuki & Saki in Nemophila

TBH - this song is " pleasant " but really not much more than that IMHO ( it almost comes under the heading of " Easy Listening " ) considering the calibre of musicians in the band . It's very safe but I much prefer their song " A New Picture " which is more experimental and I think showcases their respective talents - and they have a LOT - much more 🤷‍♂

This reminds me of my disco days long time ago. I don't remember the name of the origin band who played it, but this version may be better than that. And I'm sure, these girls will be looking much better than them.

Very good and intelligent reaction (like nearly always). I'm mainly disappointed by the singer Kotono. I liked her with Iron Bunny and she also did a nice cover of the K-pop song Better by Twice together with Lisa-X (mainly dancing), but here and in another Koiai song she appears very pale, timid, the opposite of a Rampensau (stage hog) with nearly no charisma. With her, the band wan't make it to the top.

A New Picture is the song that embodies the future of Koiai. This generic pop is the equivalent of watching someone drive a Formula 1 car around the track at 25 mph. Everyone on that stage is a certified Godzilla level performer. I want to see them go nutballs and move in the prog metal direction. These ladies could fill the void left by Rush's retirement if they wanted to.
