These are top fish just beautiful.

Wonderful video. I like your presentation skills/video techniques. I have been in the koi hobby for almost 40 years. That first shiro utsuri was one of the best I have ever seen. It was stunning. One clarification or explanation about the variety classifications. Some varieties like the Tancho variety that is presented here, of course is not a different variety. The first one was a Kohaku. However, for koi shows the tancho is separated into its own classification.

@@OldWorldNobility Honestly, I haven’t been shopping for koi in a long time. When I was shopping for koi in California many years ago, a good 1 year old shiro utsuri (white on black) or a shiro becko (black on white; with no black on the head) would cost about 100 dollars. Of course, nobody knows how well the pattern will develop. At that age, you are just looking for good body conformation and good health.

My dream koi? A big tancho with shiny metallic white scales with the contrasting red being so big and bright. Its probably worth thousands but I’d pay it if I could.

Love looking at the fish, but with white over blue i have no hope of reading what any of them are lol. Please consider those of us visually impaired in the future. Yellow letters on black is best, like the standard cc setting.

I was waiting for Kawarigoi, but the video is already over, still they are gorgeous.

These are some very beautiful fish. However, each time I try to understand the fancier varieties by name it seems more contradicting to me.

I have two lovely koi but I have no clue what they are. Louie is metallic white bodied with metallic gray scales on his top half, and an orange head with black mixed in on the top, and Kaito is white bodied, almost scaleless, blue on the top half with a few scattered light orange scales on his sides, and his dorsal scales are much wider than regular koi. His look more like a mirror carp's. If anyone can guess what they might be, I'd love to know.
