Love these koi discussions. Very informative and educational. And what an amazing fish.
I just built my first Koi pond. 4000 gal. I'm loving your vids. I spent $685 to buy 5 fish about a week ago. Love the "Hustle as a pillar of success" comment. I'll post a vid of my 1st Koi Pond soon, Thanks for the ispiration.
Always a good day when the Pond Digger puts up a vid!!
Yayyyy you’re back on KZread again!!!

THANKYOU FOR THE NEW EP. I miss you
Love your new videos! Always learn something.
Just wonderfull, and what an honor when the Breeder says such things! Excuses for my poor english, but greetings from Holland! Love your video’s Jeroen louw
Inspiring video! Thanks guys.
That fish is stunning! Since I was a little boy, my favourite koi was a Tancho... it may have just been knocked into second place!
I love the kikokuryu, i have 1 to who transformed from a white and orange in to a white and black. It has now a tiny spec off orange left. But this pattern is just great. Greatings from Holland
Thank the Lord! There you are. Haven't noticed you were making videos again. Awesome!
Good day I must say that I always enjoy your videos and I find them to be very informative. I have a question - when purchasing kohaku or Sanke at around 12 inches in length, is it that the red should already be deep red?
I keep running into your vids.. sooo that means i needed to subscribe :)
Total stunning koi

That Koi is Badass! I have a nice one but this is best I've seen.
That's a beautiful fish
great fish
Majestic beauty❤
Omg i never see a koi like this. He’s stunning with orange color.
That koi is fantastic
That’s my favorite koi I’ve ever ever seen
Very nice
That’s remarkable
It's nice to see how someone who commits their time and effort can achieve such excellent results, even in a smaller setup like the one you described. Seeing the payoff of the grower is satisfying but I also have to appreciate the uniqueness of the fish, I suppose that is the special relationship between the breeder and the grower. Very inspiring, thanks for posting this video, I'm glad to see you on this website again.
What kind of food would be economical but at the same time it is good for this fish
I was at the mistic koi event and saw that fish he so amazing
Would love the dates for the next time. In Clovis CA...will drive down for it.

Just look like salt water Nimo fish. Awesome Shawn.
I wish we could see him now!!
Damnnnn, the color is crazy
For anyone thinking of a pond depth is alot more beneficial for optimal growth of Koi Width & length can be sacrificed Swimming downwards will grow out a monster Koi alot faster 4 foot 11inch is the sweet spot I met a guy w/ 6 foot deep pond & he had the biggest & nicest Koi I have ever seen I wish I knew this before I built my pond I went for overall length 1000 gallons & only 3ft deep Guess ill have to make another right next to my first 🐟
Eric Will you be doing any more Ponds gone wrong videos?
I like your fish

Thanks for watching!
Can you PLEASE get an update on this beauty???????
This koi looks better than the 1.7 mil koi. Looks like it has the world map on him. Beautiful, hopefully the patterns stay permanant. You sure have some rare ones.
I wish I could afford these fish. But for now I'll watch
Thanks for posting this video. I'm building my second pond now. Upgrading from a 250 gallon ecosystem pond to a 2500 gallon formal koi pond. I've been disheartened at times, looking at what equipment and fish cost, but this made me feel better about getting into the hobby. Thanks for the great videos. I am driving out to CA to visit this store next month.
My mom bought Pterophyllum scalare fishes three days ago and they don't eat anything what we have given to them :(
That has to be a new breed.. the younger photo looks like a Kikokuryu to my knowlege (idk) but that thing looks like a world map...if i was you I'd study the water that koi grew up in considering that it was white before..
Oh hell , I gotta get a bigger pond
Nemo!! I was there during the competition, everyone was tripin out on this koi..

Hey, do you have a contact I could reach you at? My koi is not doing well and I would like to ask you for some tips if that’s okay!
Oh my Lord!!!
How come butterfly koi arent in the spotlight like regular finned koi?
don't like this variety , but this one is pretty cool
I always watch these videos and I always see Japanese Koi. I have Israeli (which I think sometimes are just as good as Japanese). I have a Kikokuryu but it is nothing like that! I’m fairly knew to getting really into koi keeping. I got him for £30. I was just wondering if the quality of the koi is based on where it’s from?

Where did you buy it who is the breeder? Or it is a fish farm...
@alexhartley9963

Eliav Edri I got it from a small koi dealer in my local garden centre. Not sure about the breeder. I know for sure it’s Israeli. I think they’ve said it’s from ‘allpondsolutions’ farm..? It’s very gold with deep black that’s slowly crawling up to the head from the tail

allpondsolutions is a uk company It has several branches throughout the UK Their main area as their name implies is fish lol pond fish, aquarium fish equipment food... basically all you need for a pond or an aquarium. Maybe they buy their koi fish from Israel, I'm from Israel and I was just curious where you bought it, there's a huge farm half an hour from Tel Aviv, I bought all my fish from there, they have huge koi pond, most of the fish are sold on the world market, some are sold here.

Eliav Edri yeah I live in the UK. I was just really wondering if it’s mainly based on genetics or whether the quality comes from the birth place of the fish
When does the next grow out start? Would you let me get a koi bring it to Texas for the grow out and bring it back to the show?

Need a larger body of water for big Koi..and higher protein food i believe..when you see ponds that have grown big koi they're modern style with a current and deep as hell, or massive natural mud ponds..i don't own koi btw
@electoplater

it depends on the quality of the fish you buy remember the breeders sort their koy at various stages and sell of the ones they reject maybe thats the ones you have bought it happened to me
@ZsaZsaUmbra

If your water is fine, and you are feeding enough, then it could be genetics or poor living conditions in it's 'early childhood'
Okay be honest, you guys used waterproof eyeliner on this fish right?
@jimsmith3002

Well ok we did but it takes a steady hand and a cooperating koi to get it done
Damn !!! is this fish even real ?

Crazy Beautiful! Almost unreal but it's real!
Looks like a clownfish lol
it's not an honorable policy to not allow koi to be imported, it's protectionist. it means the japanese market will never ever ever ever buy foreign bred koi no matter how high the quality or safe the breeding practices. the only reason no country has brought them to court for this is no where else is there as big an interest in koi. imagine if koi all over the world could be brought to compete in japan.
I've seen better.
