You talked me into it! I just bought one! I have a soft spot for 126 format, it came out the same year I did.

My first 'real' camera was a Kodak Instamatic X15 that my then girlfriend (later my wife) gave me for my birthday in 1972. I remember the whole kit: box, instructions, the camera itself, and a box of 'Magicube' flash cubes. It was a very simple to use camera; just load it with the film cartridge, wind, and fire away. The viewfinder, as I recall, had framing lines around the periphery of the finder that would sort of 'glow' (they really didn't they were shiny and reflected light) when you had the camera properly lined up with your eye. Also if you wanted to take flash photos, if the Magicube was used up a red indicator would appear in the viewfinder to indicate that all the flashes were used up on the Magicube. I always wondered how the bulbs in the Magicube fired because there was no batteries in the camera or the Magicubes. (per another KZread video fulminate primers were used to initiate the flash process inside the bulbs). That camera started me on a lifetime of love of photography I now have a collection of 35mm SLR cameras and accessories but I'll always remember that handy little Kodak X15.

I just got an X15. I found some cubes for it too. I bought it because I purchased some expired throwaway cameras on eBay and an instamatic cart came with the lot. The camera was cheap so I said why not. Looking forward to having some fun with it here in a couple months on a project.

I just found our family's X-15. It never dawned on me what the F meant in X-15F, until today. Now I know it means Flip Flash

I have an X-25 with a wind-up shutter (a big knob at the top) no-less! It allows one to take several shots in a row... No batteries needed of course.

Better off snapping with an SLR than 35mm adapter.

Just a question, how would theses cameras fire the flash cubes without any batteries? Really love your videos, grew up with film photography and love my Canon T-50 which I bought brand new when it came out!

The MagiCube - "As the shutter opened, a tiny lever would press into a slot on the Magicube, which would use a spring to smack the fulminate explosive. It would do what good explosives do - explode." - Thomas Smith, canistermagazine.com

Hello, beautiful video! I found it very useful! I have a question, i bought a kodachrome 64 color film from ebay, i tried to load it into the camera but it's not working, why?

Kodachrome 64 in 126 format? If so, the only reason it may not work is if the cartridge is jammed. Note - Kodachrome can only be home developed as BW. (Service ended in 2010).
