@@ISMDOBLE It gets bagged up for gardeners....... environmental destruction for coin. Thousands of years for the peat (and animal and insect life) to form and these sods come in with machinery and destroy it.

David 6410 This peat isn’t being burned, it’s sold bagged in garden centres for horticulture.

Yes, drying the fields. They usually lift/lower the water level 0-50cm, in a year they maybe harvest 10cm if lucky weather. 1-3mm layers by turn.

It takes a thousand years for those bogs to form and they absorb more carbon than anything on earth so I sure hate hearing of one being drained.

I am presuming this is for farming. However, can someone educate as to why they are doing this??

Its a peat bog. Basically marsh land. They are draining it to harvest the Peat id suggest.
