The beautiful thing about Kobe’s career is that you didn’t have to watch basketball to know who he was. The man *was a living legend. I don’t watch basketball, but I felt the impact his death had not only to the basketball community, but the sports community as a whole. It speaks volumes about the man he was and the legacy he led, he was a household name that you just knew. You’d always see replays of him showing off his pure athleticism all over TV and the internet, and as kids, many of us did simple little things like throw a crumpled up paper into the recycling bin and say “Kobe!” while we do it. It broke my heart to hear how he died and the the fact that it could have been prevented had the pilot grounded his flight beforehand. May he Rest In Peace, he will forever be remembered for his legendary status as an athlete, a father, and a inspiration to many *(Since there’s a whole ass thermonuclear war going on in this thread about my usage of “living legend”, I’ve just fixed it to stop further argument, y’all can chill now)

@@AF-we4re Post basketball, if you look at videos, post basketball Kobe still likes to achieve many things. He is Writing inspirational books, has foundations, grant scholarship, doing films, doing different businesses, coaching analyzing games with his ESPN videos series. Post basketball, Kobe is just starting. We are cheated cause we would have not seen what more Kobe will be offering to this world. We would have not seen what Kobe is doing if he is 60 or 70 years old.

This is one of the many reasons why he remains significant in our lives today and how much we’re still affected by his passing. Even off court he manages to have this mentality to always want to learn, to be the best at what he was trying to do.
