Lakers @ Kings, January 19, 2006 | Just another scoring outburst by Kobe in the month of January during the 05-06 season where he averaged 43.4 points per game over a 13 game stretch. After dropping 37 on the Miami Heat three days before, Kobe came out firing right away with 21 points in the first quarter. After a Lamar Odom triple put the Lakers up 102-97 with just under 36 seconds remaining, it seemed that the Lakers had their 7th win in 8 games in the bag. However, a pair of threes by Mike Bibby and Brad Miller sent the game into overtime where the Kings ran away with the game. Kobe finished with 51 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

He got robbed of the MVP award that year. He took that team to the playoffs and lead them to a 7-game series vs Phoenix.

Neither prime Kobe or prime MJ would be able to stop each other because they too skilled offensively.

Lmfao. Kid sit down. MJ put up 37 pts a game and then 35 a game the season after that. Kobe never scored 3000 pts in a season. Nobody else EVER did solely for Wilt. MJ and wilt are the only 2 to ever do so. And he came close multiple times. 1990 MJ would smoke 2006 Kobe STOP bein a blatant fuckin fanboy. He put up 34/7/7 in 1990. With almost 3 steals and a block. Led the League on both sides of the ball for the 2nd time (did so 3 times in his career) Kobe never did that one single time.

5:10 75%? Kobe's a great shooter and not to mention he was on fire here. If he get's a good look at the basket he's making much more than just 75% of his open jumpshots.

It's unbelievable that Kobe in his younger years was the BIGGEST ball hog ever. But then he finally learned
