Guarding Kobe was like sitting on a barrel of Nitroglycerin. You think you've got him well defended and somewhat under control, but deep down inside you're terrified that the slightest thing can cause the man to explode on you. The guy may go 1 for his first 5, but we all know he only needs to see the ball go through the hoop a couple times before it's "Uh-Oh Houston we may have a problem" time. Once he gets it locked in it's a wrap, the spark is lit, he gets that assassin look in his eyes and detonates. At that point NBA defenses are turned into stunned spectators just like the rest of us were. RIP Kobe. Mamba Mentality Forever🏀

Isiah Thomas You can flip Kobe and Lebron though, my argument is that Kobe got 5 Rings two gold medals and 1 oscar. Even though he didnt get at least 2 MVPS, he proved that he can win 2 more chips without the most dominant center who's a Top 75 player Hall of Famer. . If Lebron get's his 5th Ring, I would say he's 2nd to Jordan and Kareem will be 3rd and or if he past Kareem next year. . Bro like 4:10 is where I see the difference between Kobe and James, you see him avoid contact and still get pushed with the chest and finish whereas James would react to any sort of defense by shoving or flopping. Kobe's skill set comes with his own automatic handicap, Im going to beat your best with my best and its on display no shortcuts

This man won a championship carrying Odom, Sasha,Gasol, Bynum, Artest, etc etc, against a stacked Boston team that LeBron couldn't get passed even during that time LeBron couldn't get passed Orlando. Let that sink in when talking about GOAT status.

The home court advantage was so important this entire series. From the player intros alone, you can see how the home teams set the tone for the game. Boston especially had a very hostile crowd while LA’s classic intro got everyone off guard

I think the biggest testament to how great Kobe was in this series is the defense the Celtics played on him. I mean seriously look at how tightly they had to guard him. Guys in the league now have so much room to operate. Dudes are getting open gym looks all game nowadays.
