This animation actually makes sense. Knuckles wouldn't drown along with them, but he'd come here on a boat, and break the chains because he's strong. Respect, my favorite ending.

Before the incident: Knuckles was going for a scuba dive to discover the amazing of deep waters like a school of fishes, sunken ships, and lost monuments. Then he passed by sonic and tails while rowing his boat back to his home.

Finally! An ending where nothing bad happends...

Fun fact in the sonic game there is a level that looks like this and if for some reason when you go in one of the things you will get to the sink thing and you will see a speech “what happened “ and “because I’m not dead”
