Elegant and highly intelligent, resilient and committed to excellence, the never say die spirit of my people in all spheres of human endeavors is an awesome wonder to behold. But you forgot to tell the world that they drew their ancestry from the great Jewish people.

Igbo are Israelites. Gad's sons Erie, Arodi, & Areli ventured to Biafra, this area in the South East of what is (the British amalgamated) country of Nigeria today. OBUGAD is the house of tribute in Enugu to their father Gad. Other Israelites of the 12 tribes joined them from during various dispersions over time; Judeans (Benjamin & Judah). Oludah Equiano, a.k.a. Gustavo Vasser, is perhaps the Igbos first internationally well known Author in the C.E. besides Achebe. He was captured as a boy & sold into slavery through the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. However, he was able to eventually purchase his freedom. Equiano wrote his autobiography which gives so many insights to his culture. Despite the horrific war against them in Biafra where millions of them died (including women & children) Ndigbo has been resilliant. He who keeps Israel (the people) neither slumbers nor sleeps. Today, the warfare continues against them & has taken on different tactics, so let's remember them in our prayers. I had the pleasure of visiting Biafra Umuda Insingwu, Umuahia many years ago. The Igbo are a very welcoming & loving people.
