I've seen this dozens of times, but I've only just noticed that at 1:41 during the top-down shot of New York, the heat of the solar flare is so extreme that the water in Central Park Reservoir not only evaporates from miles away before the flare even reaches the park, but that the entire lake is blistered dry in less than *two seconds.* Just goes to show the terrifying power of the Sun.

All memes aside, this scene is pretty chilling and sad to watch, knowing that you along with the whole world is about to end in flames, nothing can save you, so their is nothing left to do but just sit there and wait for your death. The way it’s all executed in the scene is excellent. I feels so real. It’s gives me chills.
