Why are British people so FREAKING GOOD at an American accent, and Americans are so FREAKING TERRIBLE at a British accent?

I think it's because we have a lot of American tv shows, including cartoons so we kind of learnt it

because they don't listen to british accent so often through movies and stuff. But american films are like a plague. Everyone gets them in their countries XDDD not that they are bad, they are good sometimes

Because the use of muscles when using an American accent are a lot "lazier" and easier to mimic. Whereas english accents are more stressed.

90% of their tv shows and films are American. I spent a few months in England and was taking back by the level of American programming. However, putting an English accent was a breeze after spending a few months there, when before I couldn't do it to save my life.

William R Because Americans don't grow up with major influences from the UK. Most of our television is all American and we don't hear the accents all our lives. I can name maybe 3 shows on American tv with mainly British actors, which are Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones. And you have to buy some of those channels.

She has the nicest accent I could listen to her talk all day
