We held a poll on our Provost Park Pass community page asking what park should Chris visit. It wasn't even close. Knott's Berry Farm was the clear winner.
Since Knott's Berry Farm won Chris went to Knott's to reveal the unique history of Knott's Berry Farm, America's First Theme Park.

Walter Knott and Walter Disney were great friends my grandma was Mr Knott's favorite waitress. On occasion shed serve Mr Disney when Mr. Knott invited him to dinner. She's still alive and I talk to her about it to this day. She loved it.

I'm a HUGE Disneyland fan, I made a lot of childhood memories there. However, Knott's holds a very special place in my heart that Disney is never going to overshadow.

My dad was a ride mechanic at Knott’s berry farm for 20+ years. He helped build and maintain a lot of iconic rides. My grandma worked at Virginia’s gift shop for decades. You did a great job on this video. It makes me Berry happy to see Knott’s get some love!
You need to go back and do Knott’s Scary Farm!

Chris, many thanks for all the time you spent researching the history of Knott's Berry Farm. The last time I was there was almost 40 years ago. Now that I'm retired, I'm going to add Knott's to my bucket list. Eat, drink and be berry!

Seriously tho. So good.
Our high school band played there in 1977. We had soooo much fun and everyone so kind. We got to spend the ENTIRE day there! We also marched down Main Street in Disneyland. That's when they used to have their afternoon Main Street parades. It was quite an adventure for a 102 high school band members from the small town of Schuyler, Nebraska!
I miss being a ride operator at the park😕

Interesting bit of trivia: The Corkscrew from Knott's is still in use today. After leaving the farm, it was moved to Idaho's Silverwood Theme Park.
Knott’s is so rich in secrets, it almost rivals Disney. Gotta do more on them.
Prior to 1983, Knott's Berry Farm did have a park mascot. It was a prospector named Whittles.

Good memories. In 1956 when I was 10, we took a trip to the coast from NJ and visited the new Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farms Ghost Town. What a change. Rode on the train, on top of the stagecoach, panned for gold and rode a "merry go round" with swings and turned by a live mule. I still have some B&W pictures.

I love how this went from a “secrets revealed” to a “day at Knott’s with some historical info.” lol not complaining, though. Also, I learned Stalactite has a “C” in it for Ceiling. And Stalagmite has a “G” for Ground. :)

I think it's been over 35 years since I've been to Knott's. Some of it looked just as I remembered. Thank you for posting this video
I went to Knotts a lot as a kid in the 1960's. Also went to Calico a couple times! We got robbed by Outlaws on the stagecoach ride!

They still do the train robbery.
My absolutely favorite theme park. My parents first took me there way back in 1965 as a 10 year old. The memories I have of my grandmother and parents waiting in line and then finally tasting that delicious chicken are priceless. I've been to Knott's several times and now my wife and I have season passes. Even with passes we still spend around $200 each visit buying souvenirs, eating, and just a lot of little nicknacks. Well worth it. When I look back on the times that I went there with my grandmother and parents I get nostalgic and a little teary-eyed. When your little one grows up and takes his children there these memories will be precious to him. Thank you so much for this video. Eat drink, and be berry!
Seeing Mile’s excitement and joy riding his first roller coaster really made my day.
Thanks Johnathan
Yes 🙌 my wish finally came true knots secrets revealed.
Eat, Drink, and Be Berry!!! I loved this video so much! I am currently a Knott's employee (I work in wardrobe), and I just love all the history that the park holds. I can't wait to see more Knott's videos from you guys in the future. 😁
Thanks, you made me realize how much I miss going. Last decade or more, the only time I have been to the "Farm" has been for Knotts "Scary" Farm for Halloween. Chris, you did it. I never thought you could tell me something I didn't know. I never knew the origin of "Virgina's gift shop. Considering how much of my money they have, it's good to know. I remember as a kid, with the family standing in line for Mrs. Knotts chicken dinner. FYI... the Chicken dinner restaurant has a great breakfast faire. By all means, tell us more. And don't forget about Independence Hall across the street. You kids are the best.
Eat, drink, and Be Berry! I've only been to Knott's Berry Farm once and it is so much fun. Rides, food, etc...so epic! Thank you for sharing the history behind this theme park! So amazing to see the whole Provost family there! You guys bring so much peace, love, and joy to my life! I love you all to pieces!
I'm a huge lover of Disneyland, but Knott's Berry Farm was my very first theme park as a kid growing up in SoCal! I hope you continue to do more vids of Knott's in the future! Eat Drink and Be Berry!
I fell in love with Knott’s Berry Farm when I first moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s. It’s BERRY charming. And I loved that it was an old roadside attraction that became a theme park over time. And they pretty much invented (perfected) the Halloween Haunt experience at theme parks. We made a point to visit every Halloween for years and years. I loved the various magic shows that would happen at the Halloween Haunts.
It’s so good to see this channel back 🥺😩
Love the Secrets revealed videos. You have a really great following. I have not been to Knotts for many years. We used to go there all the time when I was a kid. That was a long time ago, I am 70 now. We always got a free cookie at the bakery!
Thank you Jonathan!!!
You missed Independence Hall. An exact replica of the original and it FREE to go see. Mr. Knott was a massive patriot and wanted everyone to be able to see it and when it was sold to the new owners one condition was that it remains open and free to the public.

Oh yes!!!! Please more Knott's Berry farm! Thanks for all your hard work Chris, Amanda, and Miles...you're the berry best!
Wow! I LOVE all the really cool history that is a part of this theme park! Thanks for teaching us all about it! I think I’ve only been to Knott’s 1-2 times in my whole life. Thanks PPP! The more the Berry!!
Montezuma's revenge was the first roller coaster I rode. I also loved a ride they had in the 90's called XK-1 It was basically a very high Dumbo ride, but you had a second joystick to rotate your vehicle 360 degrees and can just stay upside down if you wanted. Dangerous, but a good time.
Miles handles that roller coaster like a pro. LOL
I agree that Ghost Rider is the best ride at Knott’s Berry Farm it’s amazing the back row is the best seat!!! Huge fan of Disneyland and Knott’s so I was so happy to see u made a history and secrets of this underrated CA theme park
WOW! I’ve visited Disney every year and hv bypassed Knott’s since the 1980’s. I had no idea this park is filled with more treasures. I’ll def return next visit! Awesome tour!
I'm old enough to remember the haunted shake walk through and I don't know if you mentioned but one of the reasons they started to charge at Knott's Is because the "hippies" over took the area. The covered wagon area. And seeing joe in jail and of course the can can girl trying to escape 2nd floor 😊
Thank you Jonathan! And cool video PPP, lots of history there!
The log flume was the first conceptual ride if its type and they invented the entire mechanism we are used to.
Berry very berry. Yes, Much more of Knott's. I went there when all they had was Ghost town and it was free.
I've only been to Knott's once, and it was 3 years ago. and we got stuck in the log ride. The log 2 logs ahead of us jumped the flum and got stuck sideways. there were 4 logs jammed at one of the highest points in the ride. we had to wait for them to drain the ride so we could get out. but we got to see the inside of the mountain and got some front of the line passes.

thank you for this - brought back some sweet memories. Whenever we visited my late sister, Knott's and Calico were must do's. We had to have our chicken dinners and load up on Boysenberry jam. The log ride and soap box racers were our favorites. I remember almost passing out in Calico - it was sooooo hot!
Absolutely love this video! Always great to learn the history and hidden gems of some of these amazing parks!

For the past 5 years I have been a annual season pass holder, its one of the best values around. I am glad Disney did not buy Knott's Berry Farm as I can just image how much ticket prices might be like.

Thank you for all the fun information on Knott's! Loved it❤️❤️❤️❤️
When I was a very young man I loved Knott’s, almost more than Disney. There was a holdup on the train, gun fights by stunt men in the street, and the Birdcage Theater. That’s where Steve Martin got his start. It was a magical place back then.
This video was BERRY cool. 😂😂 I love learning about other theme parks, good job Amanda and Chris... Happy to see your whole faces again
By far my favorite park for many reasons, mostly being a few minutes away from home as a kid. We spent many a summer day in this 70’s running loose with 20 bucks in our pockets and a full ticket book. Yes, ticket books. I think they were 25bucks for 20 tickets or something like that. I’ve had many a family member employed there over the years who have told me this was the best place they ever worked. My cousins were train and stage coach robbers mostly….Your son is absolutely adorable. Three times again for the sidewinder, right on. This one scared the bajeezers out of my kids at this age….Great video as usual.
Eat, drink, and be Berry! I'm berry berry excited to see Knott's content. Just don't tell Disneyland I said that. Lol
A "must" for me during may vacay in Southern California! Being from Houston, my dad would let us spend the summer there in the '70's All summer long I saw the adverts on TV for Knott's. My cousin woke us up (me & big sister) She asked If I wanted to go to Knott's? You never saw a 7 year old kid get out of bed so fast. "Yeah! I wanna go Knott's!!!! Calico Mine Train and the railroad were fav. memories. I'd also gotten glasses, so when came out of the Calico my lenses were fogged up. LOL! You MUST have some fried chicken & Boysenberry (anything!)
The timber mountain log ride definitely reminds me of splash mountain but mixed with Dollywood attraction called blazing fury all at the same time I haven’t been on that ride but one day I would definitely would like to go on that ride with my family and personally it’s definitely gonna be one of the coolest rides that I’’m ever gonna enjoy.
I worked at KBF from 1988-1990, in both Food & Beverage and Ride Operations, in fact I met my future wife of 25+ years (she worked in Food & Beverage I was working in Ride Operations at the time). Eat Drink and Be Berry!

Knott's is the berry best! We will be back again this weekend!
I'm so glad your family had such a berry happy day!
Love Snoopy!! Thanks for sharing!!
I was not expecting to see my old buddy Michael on this episode. Haha I used to watch wrestling with him. Haha small world. Knott's is amazing, definitely one of my favorite places.
I remember going to Knott's in the 1970's and there was the Parachute Sky Jump (on the Sky Cabin tower), Knott's Bear-y Tales, The Motorcycle Chase (later became Wacky Soap Box Racers). Berry good times!
I’ve only ever been to Knott’s for dinner (the chicken and biscuits really are “berry” amazing), but I really want to go for the rides sometime. I actually had no idea how big and how much there was until watching this. Also, if you want another theme park with Snoopy as a mascot you should check out Valley Fair in Minnesota.
Yes, more Knott's please! I rode The Corkscrew!
I am BERRY happy that Provost Park Pass was at Knott's. The Corkscrew was my first Rollercoaster I ever rode in 1981 when I was 5 years old. I literally grew up at Knott's, & I preferred Knott's over Disneyland. Hello from Phoenix Arizona!🔥
This was a berry good video! Thank you!

Fun Fact, Cedar Fair Entertainment, Inc. was created when Cedar Point bought Valleyfair in Minnesota and Nickelodeon Universe in the Mall of America was Knott’s Camp Snoopy when Cedar Fair operated it. In fact, on the log shoot ride, there is still hints of Knott’s themed to the ride. But you gotta look.
I remember riding the stagecoach in the 1970's and I think into the 1980's. They had a whole section in the NE corner of the park that was western themed. One of the stagecoach Sheriffs gave me their badge which I still have. They also had gasoline powered cars that looked like Model T Fords on the other side of the road in the area where the replica Independence hall is... so you could ride the cars around and also check out the Independence hall. There was a tunnel under the road for access.
My family and I think it was cool you were excited when we ran into you at the park. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the awesome history video on Knott's Berry Farm! As a local I can't believe I haven't visited Knott's in years but after watching this I'm too excited to check out Ghost Rider and Montezuma's Revenge. You guys really brought light to the culture of the park as well and how it represents the rich history of California.
Learned a lot. Thanks.
We are going here berry soon! Thanks for the tips!
I remember when the Knott's bear tales ride was the dinosaur ride back in the 90's
I bet Miles was excited to not have to wear a mask here!! A REAL amusement park visit - no masks, no distancing, just fun!! Such a great place. Not a lot has change since I visited the first time over 50 years ago (man, I sound old!). FAMILY oriented activities. Not just huge multi million dollar attractions. Enough new coasters and things to keep everyone happy. But like the Huff and Puff - you don't see that type of thing at Disney. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for all the interesting information :)
Real glad it wasn't bought by Disneyland, and I like Disneyland. Sometimes I wish Disney didn't buy Star Wars as there over doing it. Thanks for your time and work you put into your videos......
A berry good visit for you and your family. For California residents, elementary school kids as part of their California History have to make a diorama of a California mission. On the west side of Reflection Lake. there are several dioramas of the local missions. San Gabriel, San Bernadino and Cuidad de Los Angeles (LA today) and many more. American and California history was the theme that makes Knott's a theme park. From the missions to Independence Hall across Beach Blvd to Ghost Town. I'm glad the Huff N Puffers are still around. That is one of the original rides in Camp Snoopy. My youngest brother threw a fit when he couldn't ride back in '85. He was in that in between age where he was too big and uninterest in the kiddie rides, but too small for rollercoasters. One extra tip, outside the park, the McDonalds on the corner of La Palma and Beach has a huge train diorama.
Wonderful memories visiting KBF (oh and Disneyland too) in 1985 - California blew my mind as a 10yo Aussie kid!
Loved it! Eat, drink and be BERRY!
The Huff N' Puff was my favorite too!
Loved this vlog
I am Berry excited about Knott's videos!!
For 35 years, Jim Brady aka Chief Red Feather greeted and spent time with guests at Knott's Berry Farm's Calico Ghost Town. And would often upon request, remove a very beautiful silver and tuorquois ring to reveal the name Jonathan Winters and an inscription showing that it was a gift from him to the Chief.
BERRY good video! Ever since Disneyland got rid of its AP program, my family and I have kind of switched our "home park" to Knott's. I LOVE going there and getting to be a big kid in a playground! Also, Mark, I LOVE the yellow shoes.
That was a berry good video, we need more.
Eat drink and be berry Knott's was the first amusement park I remember going to with both mom and dad and both sets of grandparents, that was back in 1979 fun times.
