These are the final minutes to “Negotiations”, the fifth season finale for the 1979-93 CBS drama “Knots Landing”, a spin-off of the popular 1978-91 drama “Dallas”. This was the 25th and final episode of the fifth season (100th overall). This episode originally aired Thursday, March 29, 1984.
Greg Sumner (William Devane), in the race for the Senate, asked Mack Mackenzie (Kevin Dobson) to take charge of his cime commission. Mack investigated a crime syndicate called Wolfbridge. Having been threatened, his wife, Karen (Michele Lee) asked him to leave to leave it alone but he didn't. On the contrary, he organized the fake death of Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford) to force Wolfbridge out, enlisting Abby Ewing (Donna Mills) to nail Mark St. Claire (Joseph Chapman) who is the head of Wolfbridge. However, St. Claire and the Wolfbridge Group arrange to have Gary killed once and for all. Gary’s ex-wife, Valene (Joan Van Ark) was even used as a decoy to lure Gary out in the open, but the plan goes disastrously wrong. Karen was accidentally wounded by a gun-woman paid by Wolfbridge. Gary rushes out to Valene and witnesses Abby getting kidnapped by the Wolfbridge Group. Gary runs to save Abby, but they got away as Valene’s feelings get hurt once again. Mack holds Karen in his arms for her life hangs in the balance.
