knocking on heaven's door

This is purely improving. I have not played or sang for a while. (Hence the hoarse voice) I have a little fun now again during this time of year. Thank you for watching.

Corey, I'm learning to play the guitar. Been taking lessons for a little over a year and after the work day is done and I'm home, I get my practice time in playing along with this and your other videos. At the moment, I'm learning the CAGED system of minor and pentatonic scales, and I've been soloing over the song while you play it. Other times, I just strum along with you. I have no one else to practice or play along with, so your videos are invaluable and are helping me become a better guitar player. Man, thanks for making and uploading this and all your other videos! Your videos have helped me make sense of a lot of the scale and harmony theory I'm now starting to learn! You're an awesome guitar player and singer! Please keep recording and uploading! For any guitar newbie reading this. One of the best ways to learn all of the CAGED shapes for minor and major scales is 'soloing' over the song as Corey plays it. This song is in the key of G, so the 'E' shape CAGED major pentatonic scale is the go-to scale to use (to start learning). Start by playing the G major pentatonic 'E' shape pattern, which has it's root note on the 6th string 3rd fret. This root note is the G note. From there, as Corey plays 'Knocking On Heavens Door', you play any note of this scale shape/pattern, and it'll sound awesome! Once you feel comfortable playing the notes up and down the 'E' shape, you can then start connecting the other shapes (D, C, A, G), and now you're 'soloing' over the entire neck as Corey plays it (due to the fact that all of the other shapes include all of the same notes of the 'E' shape). Playing along with Corey in this way is a ton of fun and makes learning these scales/shapes a million times easier and less boring!

It's great. Beautiful. Just hard affording new strings for all 7 acoustic guitars. Rough dilemma to have..lol, I know the hummingbird is probably my best acoustic, but it isn't for everything. I want a Gibson J200. I have a 100 Xtra from 1994, it's pretty beat up though. Thanks, for listening, sorry for my rambling.

Well it's just the practice take really. Thank you. My mom before she died, told me to Stop taking my videos off after I upload it. So from now on, whether it's good or bad. If I actually upload it, it stays on. Thank you for watching.
