Knitting: Pressed Flowers MAL, video 2: mosaic charts, garter and stockinette mosaic

April 2023 starts our Pressed Flowers Make-a-Long, which focuses on the series of patterns written by Amy Christoffers centered around her Pressed Flowers motif. It's a great motif because it uses garter and stockinette mosaic, as well as flat knitting or knitting in the round, depending on the pattern. She has written patterns for a shawl, cardigan, hat and cowl (listed below). We also have a few kits (yarn only) for the hat and small cowl, as well as the shawl and large cowl. Cardigan amounts will vary by size.
These videos are meant to assist with the pattern elements rather than replace the written pattern. This second video is on how to read her charts, which will jump start you into the world of combining garter and stockinette mosaic for the full effect of these "pressed flowers"

You are a fantastic teacher! You helped me understand charts. I’m a year late I’m knitting the cowl as a gauge for the cardigan.

Thankyou. I am looking at the pattern and didn't get it until I watched this video. Now to find the right yarn. I am practicing (we will call it a swatch, ha ha) in a yarn I don't like. Not sure what to use. I see the yarns in the pattern but I only want 2 yarns not 4. Thankyou again for this help!

These have been super helpful! I hope you do one for the edging of the shawl. I’ve read ahead and I’m not sure I’m understanding how to set up those rows…..your explanations help to simplify the instructions and keep me from overthinking them. Thank you!!
