This is so helpful! I really appreciate it and can see now what I was doing wrong. Very grateful. I've been knitting for years but this is the first time I have gotten concrete tips.

Wow! Thank you! My New Years Resolution was to improve/tighten my tension. I learned from your video that by wrapping my first finger differently my purls are much improved.

Hi Pam, excellent !!!! Thank you for your comment 💜- this shows to others, that figuring out how you would like to wrap your yarn and how you would like to hold your yarn is not only individual but also important. And it must feel comfortable. 🌸

This was SO helpful! Thank you!! Something I keep wondering about as a beginning knitter is how often do you push down the knitting on your right hand needle and push up the knitting on the left as you create each row? I noticed I have to do this about every 6 stitches or so and wondering if maybe there's a smoother way to do this? Don't know if that makes sense...thx in advance and thanks for your tips here!

Hi Sk, I think I do about the same = every few stitches I push my knitting up my needles... I don’t really think about it at all - if you start knitting on the daily basis you won’t think about it at all... it will become a second nature... just keep knitting and don’t worry how often you push the knit up your needles 🍀

thank you for that video, I wonder if you can explain how to keep the tension with the purl stitch. My knit stitch are ok but the purl ones are not looking good at all. Thank you so much.

Excellent video and instructions. I appreciate your time. Can you help me out? I have watched a Russian video and cannot understand which stitch she is using and what she is making. Her video is: НОВЫЙ ВИД ПЕЧВОРКА -- ИНТАРСИЯ-2 -- мастерская ИРИНЫ КУЗНЕЦОВОЙ at Practice TV. Thank you in advance.

Hi - from what I understand she is teaching how to make intarsia. she casted on 15 sts, then she knitted the first row, then in a second row she purled all stitches until 2 last st - which she purled together, then next row was knitted and again she knitted last 2 sts together - she continued in this manner to make a triangle. bear on the mind to slip first stitch in each row. When you have last two sts slip first st, knit the next and then pass slipped stitch over the knitted one... then she casted on 8 total sts along the side of her triangle, and then CO 7 = total 15 sts again... because she casted on right side, the next row is purled - you can imagine how it will continue = making triangles... so there is not any special stitch = she is knitting one side, purling the wrong side, first stitches are usually slipped, the last two stitches are knitted (or purled) together... good luck 🍀
