Hi Sharon- Thank-you for showing what you do with the yarn after ripping out a sweater. Your video of that was very helpful! I have the same difficulty with wearing larger shawls. I am also very short. Last winter I started wearing them under my coat when I went for my daily walk. They really did help keep me warmer, so I was happy to get to use them. Hope you have a great vacation.😊

Beautiful shawls! I have only knit a few and now that I am retired I make sure I wear them even if it’s just in the house. I wrap myself in them while watching tv during the winter. Thanks for sharing.

I knit the same What the Fade shawl using your Disney kit, and heads turn when I wear it! I think it's the perfect size to wear over your shoulders over a dress when going out to eat, and it's hilarious to see people's reactions in the restaurant when they see it. It's stunning! You nailed the fade! I added precious stone beads to the tassels, and the weight stretches the shawl a bit to make it more dramatic. I am 5'7", so it works for me, but I do think big shawls are harder to wear around the house. They always seem to get in my way! I've long loved and admired your Find Your Fade shawl! Let me know if you ever decide to sell it!

Sharon, I’m Loving the new format with topics. You have some gorgeous shawls you have knit. I haven’t knit a Stephen West shawl yet. I’m not a big fan of mystery KAL’s but I did enjoy watching his videos last year and seeing everyone’s progress with Shawlography. Have a great vacation!

Its so funny. I can't style triangle or half pie shawls but my favorite shawl to style are asymetrical. :)

I know, right? I'm actually about 5' 2" but I don't want to admit I'm shrinking....

Wish I knew! I purchased my yarn for the Stephen West MKAL 2022 from Miss Babs and the first set you show are very similar to the yarns I purchased. They just came in the mail today on my birthday. I was so nervous that they wouldn't combine well since I bought them online. But they are so beautiful together. I really like the Hipster and I have purchased it in the past, I think it's almost time to cast it on. But first I have to knit the thumbs on 2 pairs of fingerless mitts and then it's onto the MKAL. I made Steven Wests eyeball shawl and it was sooooo much fun to knit! I haven’t finished last years mkal because I didn’t end up loving the colours I chose as it came together 🤔

You have got me going with my knitting. I frogged a sweater. Love the yarn but wasn't happy with the sweater. I bought a skiff and have gone to work. Thanks, I didn't Know that I could do this. I'm so excited. I too love shawls. Great visit!

I have the same issue with larger shawls I'm only 4'11. Though I do plan to knit a large shawl to snuggle up with. Have a wonderful vacation and be safe. Cheers!

Your shawl tour was amazing. I also prefer crescent and triangular shawls and find them easier to wear. I'm even shorter than you! While I miss Rich, I'm enjoying the new knitting content. Have a lovely vacation.

It took me a few years to realize that a 3 skein shawl is to big for me. I am small too. A one skein is to small but a two skein or there about is perfect. Try wearing a leather shawl cuff to keep the asymmetrical shawls in place. Works like a charm.

Great video, you have made some lovely shawls Sharon. I really like the hipster, that looks really wearable. Oracle has been in my queue for ages, yours is gorgeous! I’m in two minds about the Steven West mkal too… but will probably cave and join the excitement 😄

Question in reference to your saying when you rip out a sweater , you wash the yarn after ripping out. How do you do that?

I Ike a pattern of his called “Barndom.” I think it’s a 3-skein shawl, which I find to be plenty big. Any bigger than that and I get overwhelmed by it… so why did I buy yarn for the Twist and Turns MKAL? I’m hoping there are cables. We shall see. I’m only 4’10” so I get lost in large shawls.
