I have both pairs,locking and non locking.Two thumbs up on these and these get used a lot and now a diehard Knipex fanatic
Just got these today in the mail. Very impressed with the quality. This isn't my first Knipex tool either.
WOW. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 20 YEARS. GREAT TOOL. ALMOST TO RETIRED FROM AUTO INDUSTRY
Oh wow. I just did work on my throttle body, IAC valve, PCV valve etc. These would have maybe been satisfying to use with a couple of clips but the truth is I had several tricky clips and it was more how they were positioned that caused a problem - I'm not sure I could have gotten these pliers in the tight space any better than my regular pliers.That, and there were about 6 different types of clips used through all the different air and coolant pipes and I don't think these would work on all of them either. Maybe if you use all the same type of clips a lot they'd be useful.

I haven't ordered mine yet, but from what I can see, these would have to work better than regular water-pump pliers ... on at least some of your clamps.
How do these work with clamps that have one prong on one end but two on the other?

Daniel Bradley : The mentioned clamps with two prongs on one side instead of an closed bow, are not useable with our 85 51 250 A or 85 51 250 AF Spring Hose Clamp Pliers. We are very sorry but there is no suitable pliers for these clamps in our pliers range at the moment.

It would need to be updated to also grab and turn hose pipes like 8551250c
why couldnt you have radius ed the inside of the jaws and made them look like fifty quid pliers instead of looking like water pump pliers with an adapter stuck on the end , i know it would have not only made them look better , but also have made them fit over things nicer , c mon , the design team must have been snoozing for all of the ten mins it took to design these ,,, and im a knipex fan ,,,,

The answer is that they're German Engineers. It's all about function. I can absolutely live with that...
