Very nice tools! I've purchased multiple knipex pliers after watching your videos, my personal favourite is the pliers wrench, but the raptors are great for alignments. Im always using the pliers wrench for exhaust work, removing 02 sensors, egt sensors, etc without spending time a bunch of time trying to find the right size of wrench makes life easy. Keep up the good work with the videos!!

Good review as always. I'd really like to see a comparison of these compared to the Knipex Pliers, it seems they would do many similar jobs, so would be good to get a comparison. Also I'd like to see a comparison of the Comfort Grips, the standard Grips and the VDE Electrical rated grips. You cover a little about the grips here, but a more detailed comparison would be a good video. It's quite amazing that you almost never "Um" and "arrr" in your videos, unlike a lot of others. It must be really hard, do you use a script or have lots of bloopers edited?! Thanks.

Thanks! I dont have any VDE grips, but I will see what I can do. Also --- umm, err, or other noises like that greatly annoy me.....I take a lot of time to #1 - think about what I want to say, #2 - set up the correct angles to show what I am talking about, & #3 - edit the clips together to make things flow well. I am glad you appreciate that. (also --- no scripts....I have tried, it doesnt work. Everything flows naturally as I speak in person). Thanks for watching!

Do you think with similar length bar over the handles If locked On a grade 8 bolt they could tear the head off? Assuming they could be squeezed hard enough and enough leverage. Like the Flank drive style open ends. Looks like they have three surfaces vs two from snap on and wright grip. Four from SK if I recall. The large cobras also could prob give the bolt a run for its money.

  • @RealToolReviews

In the video you compared the raptors to the cobras; how would you compare the raptors to the wrench-pliers?

I'm trying to decide between getting the raptors or channellock nutbusters; or maybe the cobras, I don't know!

The Nutbusters will tear up anything they are going to take off. The Raptors can take off a tough fastener and still be able to use that fastener again. 3/8 - 1 1/4 will cover a large range of sizes and being adjustable, it can fit tighter on a fastener than even a high quality wrench because fixed open end wrenches have to allow for slightly varying tolerances between fastener manufacturers. I have the Nutbusters but I'm now considering the Raptors as well.

I agree with you on protecting the fastener, as long as it hasn't already been rounded off the raptors could still utilize the flats. My main concerns are the large head needing clearance around the fastener, the length of the handles in tight spaces and the jaws only going down to 3/8". If they made a smaller version I'd definitely be interested, I'm considering the Channellock Nutbuster 307's for those reasons.

theomnipresent1 Ah the smaller Nutbuster, I could see that. At that size I would consider the Knipex 8603180 7-Inch Pliers Wrench. But the price difference is quite stark. I'd be curious to see if one offers more leverage. However the pliers wrench would probably see more use as it could pretty much replace an adjustable wrench without the drawback of loosening up and being a bit faster. They do commonly go on sale though since they are very popular.

What do you see as the advantage of these over the Pliers Wrench? They both have the ratcheting action, but the pliers wrench also has the cam for additional clamping force. Also the people correcting your pronunciation must have never watched any videos from Knipex themselves. I still say Nye-pex myself because it flows better / is more fun.

+FirworksYT These physically wedge together, clamping both sides.....where the pliers wrench will clamp down with equal force on each side through a cam action. They are both useful, but totally different designs. I think that both work great, but for different applications --- and the Raptors only come in one size (currently). As far as the "K" in Knipex.....I think it is funny how worked up people get. I have heard it pronounced Nip-ex, Nip-pex, Nee-pex, Ka-ni-pex, Nye-pex.......they all mean the same thing, so to each there own ;)

+Real Tool Reviews The people that make Knipex call it Ka-ni-pex so if they built & own the company and call it that then I would say that is the way they want it pronounced but they probably don't care as long as you buy their pliers and are happy with them...I just laugh especially when they say to you the "K" is silent. I own 85% Snap-on, @15% OTC, Lisle, Starrett, etc but when it comes to pliers Knipex is the best and are in my box. Great reviews!

Next Knipex video start it with saying Knipex can be pronounced several ways but does not affect the quality or performance of their pliers so for this video we will use the pronunciation used by the German manufacturer...holy crap this is not a pronunciation video but a tool review video on pliers made by what I consider probably the best plier manufacturer in the world
