I love how you integrate classic comic book moments from the character's history in creative ways. Off the top of my head, I saw elements from The Long Halloween(Scarecrow rhyming, Dent, Batman and Gordon around the batsignal, batman asking Gordon if it was worth it), Hush(Riddler knowing batmans identity but never spoiling the answer to the biggest riddle), A Death in the family, Under the Red Hood("it would be too damned easy"), the animated series("I am vengeance, I am the night I am batman") and Batman Ego(Bruce Wayne fighting a darker manifestation of batman who wants to kill criminals. You guys know your batman ! You did an excellent job of summing up the characters' history in a relatively short time. The big movie studios that handle these characters on the screen could learn A LOT from you guys

This captures the Arkham style so well. Sometimes a fan film gets it so much more than the actual movies ever will simply because FANS make them. In this case really talented film making fans.
This was simply brilliant. In just under 40 minutes you show that you deeply understand not only Batman, but the characters and history of it all. The effort put into this film is very clear and while very masterfully taking bits and pieces from the comics, you still kept an amazing original feel to it. Well done guys, simply amazing

The suit is taken from the 80’s Batman comic arc death in the family. Where joker kills Jason Todd (robin 2)
@jasonparker346
2 жыл бұрын
Horrific imagery, brutal and bloody violence, bad language and a serious tone, yep just like the 1960s series😂
I've noticed when Bruce isn't wearing the suit, all you see is a big dark smile on the cowl, letting us know that Batman has the same madness as the joker
I love how the action didn’t have aggressive music. The music felt calm, almost mellow. This gave an eerie feeling as you can clearly hear every impact. Every snap, crack, punch, and scream could be heard against some quiet rhythmic synth. This also gave the feeling of our Batman being incredibly skilled. All of his movements felt in sync, like a precise and powerful dance to the music of pain. It was an incredible feeling no studio would dare recreate, but it felt like Batman.
I grew up with “Batman” aka Damien Chinappi, we were in a band together and spent our childhood raising havoc..mad props to everyone involved! God Bless.
I enjoyed how you subtly clue us in to the early part of the film all being part of Batman's dream with the "TRACKING" screen popping up even before Scarecrow appears, reminds me of the fake crash in Batman Arkham Asylum

Anymation, in the other Batman movies, they didn't need to put on black make-up, their mask was good enough. Keaton; Kilmer; Clooney; Bale; and Affleck was outstanding. They stayed true to the classic character, without twisting things around, to suit the millennials.
@rockstarphantom8112

@@sharoneasley7857 the character of Batman wasn't wearing eye paint, but the actors definitely were. I think the point being made was since we all know those masks kinda require it, it's kinda fun to see some filmmakers acknowledge it.

There are many low budget independent films, mostly horror movies, that are way way better than big budget films. Films like this definitely prove it's not always about the money. I could think of plenty of movies that had a huge budget and they sucked big time.
You know what's sad... but kind of a testament to the dedication of the Director and writer? This is absolutely better than anything Warner Bro's has put out in over 30 years. Not anywhere Tim Burton's perfect vision -- but oddly enough this is actually watchable. I haven't been into cape and mask and superpower from hands movies in 20 years probably. But I did watch all of this and ........Yeah, it was watchable. Pretty cool stuff.
I'm finding this 3 years late...but if this isn't proof that short form Batman films or even a series can be made, I dunno what more proof you'd need. Bravo.
Joker: IT’S JUST A PRANK BRO!
How in the hell did you make this film?! Like you had police cars, a batcave, souvenirs to go with the batcave, and basically everything that you could possibly think of that would be in a Hollywood movie set! Amazing work!

@Mike Gonzales Mike this might hurt your feelings... But Batman doesn't discriminate when dwelling out justice. He fights HAND to HAND with EVERYONE. From equal foes like Lady Shiva to Catwoman, Or crazed villains like Harley or Dollotrons, there are women who Batman sees as equally guilty in his pursuit of justice. No exceptions. Bruce has even struck his own Robins. Which is arguably worse as it's child abuse. So learn from this that maybe sometimes, it's necessary for our heroes to make poor choices, so they can see where they've strayed in the path they originally set out on. That said, this whole story is a dream... So he never actually struck any women, did he?
Well, done. Its so funny Detroit has so many abandoned warehouses and factories, you dont even need set design.
Wow wow wow this was amazing! The score was definitely my favorite part of this fan film along with the cinematography

Wow! The production value of this film was amazing! The sets/locations, props, music, script, effects, everything below and above the line! You guys did a phenomenal job! Well-done.
Am I the only one who wants to point out how absolutely amazing that was? Like start to finish everything. Acting for the most part was great and the way they shot the movie and camera quality/angles were like real movie quality or even mainstream tv show quality (which is amazing for a fan film). Fucking fantastic job guys I'd pay to see the sequel in theatres like proud and please make a part 2
Too much talent in just one movie... better than other Hollywood movies
My first real introduction to the Batman (other than the 1966 TV show) was in '89 when I couldn't see the movie (too young) but the vote on Jason Todd's fate had just been decided, and my small local newspaper ran the story, with that classic panel of Bruce carrying Jason's body out of the rubble. Saddened me, and it was a hard hit to take at 13, as I'd never seen Batman in that light before. The intro to this brought on a lot of old feelings. Cool. Thanks for that!
Dudeeee , the music and tone and grim look , this fan film gave me some actual chills , it legit seems freaky and terrifying like a super dark version of Batman , I love it , it’s cuz some really good shots and great crew, wow this amazes me
The opening with Jason gave me major chills. Amazing

Nice casting, well-acted and amazing story on Bruce/Batman confronting his inner demons and nightmares after Jason died. Poor Bruce and his parents, Jason and Harvey though.
This was absolutely amazing. First off, I love the use of the blue batsuit, that batsuit does not get enough love in serious Batman films. Secondly, the production value, cinematography, special effects, makeup, costumes and fight choreography were REALLY GOOD! I am thoroughly impressed with this film! BY FAR the best "fan film" On KZread. This proves Batman doesn't need 200 million to make a great flick! Thanks for this! Loved it!
Why do I get the impression Matt Reeves saw this?
My favorite scene was the " Sanctuary " one where Batman confronts his dark side, his inner demons. There must be that side of him that does want to kill and punish to bring justice, and he probably has to keep that in check and always remain in control of himself. Nicely done. The hand to hand martial arts was great too, whupping that ass.
Did you seriously make a live action version of my two favorite Batman properties of ALL TIME? Perchance to Dream mixed with Under the Red Hood. Absolutely INCREDIBLE. You guys have MAD talent. Keep going. You guys are going places.
I LOVE this adaptation
You know I am a very DIY guy, I consider myself very unapproachable and independent and I haven't felt strong emotions from any movie or art medium in a long time. After all, what do these philosophers and tale makers know that I don't, right? But, that homage to Batman Ego?? That earned you guys a new patreon..
His fighting skills are amazing.
The fight sequences remind me of the Arkham games, nice job. I can't believe you used "the scream" at 7:54 lol! It's like every filmmaker has to use it at least once. Good work mate!

Well done. Thanks for this. It made me hit up a bunch of my favourite Batman comic books, and I’m stoked it stuck to the source material, unlike most of the Hollywood versions. Saying that, I’ve enjoyed them all, but I appreciate the way this focused on just how unhinged Bruce Wayne is. ‘Nightmare glowing eyed Batman’, was terrifying & I half expected Bat-Mite and the Zur-en-arrh story arc to be referenced.
