    Nothing like the honest and sincere praise of a reviewer for a miniature that the company who made it, gave to you for free. ZERO Credibility.

    What negative comments?? I just read them all. A few constructive opinions but not a single negative comment. I love this model but would have focused more on the actual battle damage myself. Knights helmets and shields did not stay pretty and straight for very long in reality. Have you ever dressed in full armor and attempted to do anything strenuous? I have done armored fighting league and re-enactments let me tell you after just a minute or two your gear takes a beating. This model has mail too which is even more cumbersome and heavier than plate. 👍👍 btw, its ok for someone to dislike something 😉

    It's about people's ability to build a model and make as good as they can. Nothing to do with your passion for re-enactments, or armoured fighting leagues. Have I done armoured fighting? No, nor do I feel I have to to build a model. One thing I do is compete in triathlon's at 53, so strenuous is a common pain for me. Keep safe Don.

    BrownieBoy66 much respect to you. I could not do what you do. But what i meant about stating my experience. Thats is how i am going to build MY model. Not taking anything away from this guy what so ever. He is a very talented model maker without a doubt. No one cut down on him over his skills though, they just commented what they would have done differently and there is nothing wrong with that. The thumbs down thing? Its youtube, the people that thumbs downed it probably didn’t even watch it so whatever, their loss really because this work is amazing! Wish i was a bit more tech savvy because i would make a video of my build when i get to it. I currently have 3 different 1/18 scale knights templar models i want to build. Take it easy good sir

    Great job my friend. The only thing i am going to different on my model is focus on battle damage. I do have an issue with the model itself though. The hand and foot areas do not have the proper protection. Not sure how i am going to deal with that on my kit but i will figure something out. Love this piece! Keep up the excellent work 👍👍

    Amazing paintwork! The mantle part of the model itself (not the paint, which is fabulous) doesn't quite convince me. If the Templar knight would stand more upright (on a small hill) then the mantle would be oke.

    @@Robin6512 I totally agree with you; the sculptor should have applied some battle damage to the shield. It just so happens that 2 days ago I tried to resculpt a badly made Tamiya figure from the 1970s that I found in my basement. Now it looks ten times better than before, but the metal alloy was so hard that I ruined several genuine Dremel drill bits and my best file, lol.

    Just dip the lead parts in a Dawn (or similar brand) dishwasher soap bath and then use a soft toothbrush to brush clean the lead parts while it's resting within the dishwasher soap bath.

    Like damuses said, you can do it with soap+at the end you should sand it all with a fine sandpaper... about the glue, you can use a normal soperglue, I think that lead doesn't need any special glue... 😉

    With my lead and diecast models i clean them with automotive brake cleaner and use a file to rough up the contact areas. I have used both super glue and metal specific 2 part epoxy. I prefer the epoxy because the good stuff will have micro metal filings in it. If you roughed up both contact surfaces this epoxy basically welds the parts together and gives you time to position things where you want them. I have found with super glue it gets brittle with time and i have had wings fall off my dragons or weapons/shields fall off my figures when i go to dust them off. Also with super glue you do not have a long working time, none to be exact. Like i stated with the working time of the epoxy you will need to find a way to secure the parts while bonding. So i guess it all comes down to preference. I use epoxy now because i got tired of repairing my diecast figures every 3 years. Hoped this helped 👍👍 P.S. DO NOT USE GORILLA GLUE- If you do make sure you read the package because some of that glue expands, trust me its a disaster 😢

    Heavens to Betsy! Blood! Who would have thought a knight with naked steel in his hand might have actually stuck someone with it! Blood is one of the most difficult of effects to pull off - there must be fifty or more videos on the face and shadows, very few that show believable blood. Well done! M

  • @winnietheshrew2957
    @winnietheshrew29574 жыл бұрын

    The blood on the cloak looks like paint splashed onto a wall. The paint stays on the surface and makes the cloak look like a stiff piece of plastic. Blood stains in cloth have a totally different shape because, contrary to plastic, cloth absorbs blood splatters immediately. In addition to that, the color of the stains quickly turns from blood red into a reddish brown. Also, since the cloak is mostly turned away from the carnage, there would be almost no blood on it. The blood on the knight's chest is shiny and should get a coat of matt varnish. Apart from that minor issue, the blood on the chest and shield looks quite convincing, much better than on the overdone cloak. After all that criticism it might appear that I don't like at all what you did, but far from it. The only thing I take issue with is the blood on the cloak. I honestly think you did a great job and yes, I learned a thing or two from your vid. Thank you for recording and putting it up on YT.
