Knife Rewind - Swell End Jack - GEC vs Antique!
Donate here: / jprime84
Comparing a 2016 Great Eastern Cutlery #85 Bullet End jack in natural canvas micarta with a vintage/antique New York Knife Co. swell end jack knife in beautiful jigged bone. The NYKCo knife could be from anywhere between 1880 and 1931, and it shows its age beautifully.

Thanks for making this video! Really cool to see the old vs new, very informative.
Enjoyed this a lot, and would be delighted to see more. And boy do I love the look of a matchstriker pull.
I like the old vs new thing. Show us more please.
Great idea for a series. Looking forward to another rewind.
Once in a lifetime find
Very nice video. I like this format. 👍
Great video, a pair of real beauties.
Quite an entertaining video! If you have since taken the time to put a keen edge on your NYKC Swell End EO Jack, you may see that the top knife manufacturers of the US cutlery "golden age" really were unparalleled! While GEC is the leader in today's traditional knife world, these classics (like yours), will generally give you the sharpest edge of any slip joint (at least in my experience.) Thank you for a great "now and then" comparison!
Definately like to see more and find out the history of traditional knives.im just starting on my journey but looking forward to learning.atb paddy.
