Brother I remember watching your videos when I was 17 years old always wanting a benchmade balisong. Here I am, about to be 27 years old and just got this exact knife today for retail price, and is also my first benchmade! Thanks for the lessons, and memories of me staying up past 12:00 oclock practicing off your tutorials! It's been a journey and thank you for keeping this art/lifestyle alive. You're the best dude. :]

AWESOME. I greatly appreciate your videos and admire them very much. This one video specifically helped me a ton on picking out my first Balisong. I was originally looking at the model 66 and 67. I waned to really see which one was the better one and this video really helped me narrow my decision. Thank you so much!!!! Big fan of your skills as well.

I love the 67 and the 51 they are great balisong for flipping and EDC!!! It’s pitty Benchmade discontinued the 67... a lot of people said the 67 is hard to sharpening but with the arête of the spyderco sharpmaker it’s very easy to make a real razor, i hope Benchmade will make new balisong in the future because in France it’s very difficult to find good bali like BRS, i learned all my tricks on heavy balisong and i prefer than the 51 but i know it’s not the opinion of balisong’s community in general, it’s more difficult but it’s possible also.. the sensation is great on heavy balisong, the 51 is a balisong very sexy and a great bali for customs

I'm pretty sure balisongs are legal to carry in PA. There's case law (Commonwealth v Miles) where a balisong was explicitly found to not be an offensive weapon. Though if you have reason to believe otherwise, I'd be interested to know.

This was my first Balisong, I bought it last Summer. My poor fingers couldn't satisfy the 67's bloodlust, so I nicknamed it Audrey II. What would you recommend training on to use this? I have a generic Bench*Mark* trainer, and an earlier Microtech MetalMark 154-CM I'm practicing with, but the weight distributions of both are so far off! Thanks for finally reviewing this Balisong!

4:20 for me i got use to flipping BM63 and I recently grab a Morpho BM51 and because it was tooo damn light i ended up putting more force than usual and ended up slicing myself doing an aria and thumb rollovers feel strange on light BM51. So what Im trying to say is that get use to what you are flipping and if you go from balisong to balisong then perform 15 minute light warmup sessions(meaning dont jump into stringed combos) with it because you may put more force then needed and accidentally catch the wrong handle. Tips from me and NICE Video by the way.

Jeff, You can edc a bali in PA-- I do it with my Benchmade 51. Do a Google search and you'll find that there was a recent case where it was determined that a balisong is not an "offensive weapon", and is thus legal to carry.

I started with a 67, but want to also get a 51. And trust me, my 67 has tasted plenty of blood haha. I accidentally grabbed the wrong handle one time and cut to bone on three spot on my fingers. I somehow didnt notice it until i saw blood dripping all over the carpet. But the pinch from this hurts too. Only thing i haven't had yet was the ricochet. And also, have you done a review on the benchmade afo2? If not, do you think you could get your hands on one for a review?

I really don't understand what Benchmade is doing, they pretty much ignore the balisong market which they can totally dominate with their reputation. Like seriously, they discontinued the 42 which was almost a perfect balisong which is still considered the best ever, and now they keep making balisongs which are inferior even though everyone wants the 42 back. Secondly, they patented the spring latch and never use it, what the fuck.

The flip you did was a modified horizontal flip. to break down what i think i saw was a starting off with a standard opening but with your index finger on the top of the safe handle bring the momentum back to let the spine ricochet on the index and then kind of pivot the safe handle a bit at letting the spine ricochet against the top of your hands or index finger and then doing a reverse wrist pass to bring the balisong to a close. Hard to explain it but I can make a video on that move you did if anyone wants to see how it was done.

Does anyone know a guide or video on how to sharpen this knife? I got it around a year ago and haven't sharpened it yet, use it just for flipping but am getting confident enough to just EDC it and use it for everything I'd use a normal knife for, but it's now fairly dull. I'm worried about sharpening it incorrectly as it's my first expensive knife. Don't want to ruin the secondary point or anything.
