Knife Making - DIY SUPER Simple Bushcraft Knife
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Knife Making - The Simple Bushcraft Knife!
I started with a piece of 1080 steel and some hickory for the scales and ended up with a great little bushcraft knife. This is knife making at its simplest. No music just knife making. This is pretty much all the steps involved in making this knife. I did leave out the multiple normalization cycles. I just showed one. The knife was also temperer at 400 degrees for two 2 hour cycles. The edge is a 220 grit edge and stropped. Its Scary sharp!
Natural wood is tough to work with for scales. It contaminates easily with the sandpaper grit and also the metal shavings from hand sanding. Its very tough to keep clean. Theres a reason you don't see many light wooded natural scales (such as maple). Some forward thinking is required in order to finish it right. Hope you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching!

I would only recommend adding simple vulcanized fiber spacers/liners. They should probably always be used when natural wood is going to metal. Great knife, best so far I think!
I'm sure someone's already said this. But those 1x30 belt sander that harbor freight sells are super nice for knife making. I've got one and I love it

Badass
Such a normal knife. Mushrooms are exactly what you need, on a barbecue or something else ... Well, there’s a sausage, a tomato. Even a bully on the rolls to ride for educational purposes. The knife is good for everyone! Thanks for the review !!!
Simple yet sweet blade... I have watched your other knife videos too, amazing. Do you sell your knives? 😁
Nice knife. Love all the detail steps you show. How does it feel to use? I know there isnt any hot spots but does the handle roll?
Thank you
Very nice knife and video. No talking, no music, only the sound of the work and from nature.

Nice job, but I like the black handled knives you make better. You have a knack for really putting your talent into every knife you make.
Thanks to your videos I'm willing to try to make a knife 1084 and do a heat treat on it I'm currently working on an old file knife for my 1st one
I'm just getting into knife making. I made a few out of an old circular saw blade. My current project is a bushcraft knife made out of 5160. I don't have much for tooling. It is coming along with a file guide I made.
I love this! Made a similar knife, but out of a file on my channel.
Who would have thought simple plywood would make such great scales.
@OUTDOORS55

Well, it’s not plywood (I know, hard to tell from the video) but a hickory cut off, from making axe handles. It’s some tough stuff😀
