Kneeling Rope Crunch With Proper Form
A kneeling rope crunch is a great way to work your abs with added resistance. But it's easy to screw up. Make sure you're squeezing your abs and not just bending at the hips! For more tips and variations, go to www.bodybuildingmealplan.com/...

Thank you so much for making this video! Been in the gym for years and always felt awkward trying this exercise, but not anymore!

I was told to turn around and do them the other way for more tension, was that correct?

You can do rope crunches facing the other direction. However, tension is greatest when the cable is perpendicular to the working muscle (abdomen). That means facing the pulley generally puts more tension on the abs in the contracted position, while facing away results in more tension in the stretched position. This also depends on the height of the pulley, the length of the handle, and how far away you are from the pulley. But the way I demonstrate in the video is great for maximizing tension on the abs in the contracted position.

@@NutritioneeringWould it be a good idea to mix both exercises then to get the best of both worlds? 🤔 🤔

@@AArmijo-jd6mj Yeah, you could definitely do both exercises or alternate variations each week. You could also perform some reps with rotation to target your obliques.
Do u squeeze core always or just when crunching?

Your core should be engaged and under tension throughout the exercise, but really try to contract your abs at the bottom of the crunch.

@@Nutritioneering thank you. Try not to move the rope above your head
