This wave is cool to be a different take on characters. The general Zodd glows in the dark. The armor of Superman dances be put on different figures. It looks great on death metal Superman. I just tried that out.

Ik most people will say that both Superman and Earth 2 Superman are way too tall. But I actually like this scale. I will 100% buy both when they release in Canada.

Honestly I am fine with the height of Earth 2 Superman. Mcfarlane Superman figures are usually too short, so it's a nice change of pace.

I'll say this about McFarlane, he always does right by Black figure with their face sculpts. Marvel Legends is the opposite, especially early on.

Excellent point, and very true!

I was at a Target and I just happened to stumble across the platinum version of this figure. I definitely couldn't past it up.

Once you do a review of the page punchers ghosts of krypton superman with detachable armor figure next I hoped you do a armor swap for other figures to see if it fits my guy 😊

I feel like todd was mad because people were complaining about extranious detail on Dc Muliverse figures so now he toned down the detail on main line figures and now uses Page Punchers to capture his overly detailed style. Just my theory on why the figures look the way they do. All these spikes, bolts and buckles on Val-Zod make it feel like a spawn figure from the 2000s. I respect his style but for a Superman figure, it's way too much. His style does work on Brainiac with all of his alien tech detail which is why i am definitely going to pick him up. I guarantee that this isn't going to be the last Val-Zod figure Mcfarlane makes so I am not that mad about how his costume looks.

Agreed. He's giving us a lot of classic comic versions, so I don't mind the occasional outrageous wave like this.

Maybe it's me, but I didn't mind repeated comics in a wave. Maybe it's because i cherry pick pretty much everything, so Page Punchers have gone from "a comic with my figure i can enjoy" to "1/4th of a comic story i will probably never finish". Personally, I'd rather them do the thing the 3 inch figures are doing and include an existing, character-specific issue, rather than do original comic storylines that you have to buy the whole wave to understand.

I agree that the change makes it better for people who collect all 4 than who plan on getting just one. Other than the idea of including existing comics, which I like, one of the two groups unfortunately will have to compromise. Its way smarter for Mcfarlane as a business to support full wave collectors and I respect it as a business change that feels like encouragement to collectors rather than harmful and discouraging to dedicated fans like some other.. decisions... theyve been making lately

If I were King, they would scrap Page Punchers. Instead, the comic would come with the Collector Editions instead of the silly trading card stands, and the comic would be an existing issue spotlighting that character/version of the character, and the line would focus on either really special comics like Action Comics 1 or obscure characters like Captain Carrot as a way of introducing them to mainline audiences.

I'm getting this, and if McFarlane puts out a classic version, I'll get that, but I am going to have to back off McFarlane figures. It's not fun how hard it's becoming to get figures like Starfire. I don't have money to spend like that, and you make it harder for me to get sought-after figures, and you make the decision for me. Gaps are starting to develop in my collection making it easier to not feel the need to seek out the next character to complete the set.

I like the Val-Zod figure. And I can't wait to buy him.

I hope I have an easy time finding him. Because I can't find him at Walmart or Target. I probably have to preorder him from a GameStop store. I already preorder Green Lantern Hal Jordan. They have Val-Zod because I believe the young man that worked there show me on the computer that they have him. Hopefully they'll have Val-Zod in stock whenever I preorder him. Because that look like GameStop is my best bet. Lol.

We have to get a normal version made for sure.

I've noticed that Mcfarlane kind of likes to grapeshot multiple versions of a character out at a time (Super Powers and Multiverse Kilowog and Manga Batman, or all the different Mister Freezes last year for instance), so the fact that we got this one tends me to think we are getting other versions soon enough.

Probably the comic artist was working from early designs and they made changes in the actual figures too late to do anything about it. In the comic itself they are wearing studded gloves and have a few other minor design tweaks

this is one visual noisy supersuits I've ever seen and I honestly hate it headsculpt looks good tho like a fully human Victor Stone

I have the Bug ship and the Brainiac skull, but my preorders for the figures haven't arrived yet. I have been looking when I go to GameStop though. I have seen the yellow version of Sinestro and Manga Batman but that's it.

@@5POAFigureReviews I got Gold Superman in the mail, yesterday. I get them so RANDOMLY from McFarlane. I SOMETIMES get figures before they come out. Like Wave 4 Batman (3 months early), and this Gold Superman. I don't want to be greedy. Semi-retired. Used to work for WB. I got into YT to give me something to do. Thanks for your videos. I bought a couple figures based off your recommendations. Super Powers also kinda made me make how to make capes videos. McFarlane has gotten better, but their capes still suck.

Am i the only one who sees the unused Superman Lives suit with this design? Just put a Nic Cage head on the Kal El one

To bo honest...I'm mixed about the looks. Is it to replace the "McFarlane Designed" line we had with Batman and Wonder Woman. I always wanted more figures in that series.

Oof. Easy pass. I can't stand this suit design. The limited articulation. The rotator cuff. The wrist and ankle balls. And that awful cape. And scaling so much taller than every other figure. Nope. Thank you for the review. I needed to see this to decide.
