Kmart Milk Frother and Heater Only $32. What Else Can It Do? (Anko SMF-500C)
Well made, just slightly short cord.
I wish it went over 65C but I guess it really does not have to.
Not hot enough for popcorn. Perfect for milk though.

Hey mate sorry nearly missed this comment! Really glad to hear - happy camping!
Bought mine today. Frothed up great!! Love it 👍

Woooo, glad to hear!
Yeah I bought this one too. Hoping it’d make my coffee decent enough so I’d stop spending $4.50 every day at the cafe. Coffee prices are going up and up here lately, it’s nuts

Yeah no joke hey! It certainly seems to do the trick for us. Missus is a barista and has no issues with it!
Hey buddy, how's it going? Doing alright here, sorry I missed some of your videos. I'm watching now 😉👍

Yeah mate a lot of people have had some tough times hey. Glad to hear you're powering through!
very kewl. I only have the $2 gadget from IKEA (battery powered) wouldn't mind trying this...but I'd also want a coffee machine too...ah consumerism and I'm such a victim...ho hum.

Yeah I have that same cheap Ikea one which has lasted over 15 years now haha. This is great though, and we used it a fair bit till we bought an actual coffee machine!

hi! i was wondering can it heat and froth milk at the same time? for example: to make a hot cappacino?
@platima

Helps if you watch the whole video :P
I guess you gotta heat than frother because foam has a lot of air trapped which works like thermal blanket from getting hot
@platima

Yeah I'd say so. Milk is also technically an emulsion of fat solids in water, so heating it would soften those lipids.
I have one but it is from ALDI, it worked similar to this one but not as many buttons on it and mine is silver.
@platima
Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that looks VERY similar. How much did it cost? I cannot stand going to Aldi haha.
@steviebboy69

@@platima It was a few years ago now, maybe under 20? but very similar to the one you show here. ALDI did make a much larger one as well.

@@steviebboy69 Oh that's decent then! Glad it's lasted so long too. I am trying to figure out why so many were seemingly stolen from my local shop. Surely it can't be used to make meth or THC oil =/ Unless I am missing some seriously useful info haha

@@steviebboy69 That's what I thought so I went there myself - checked shelves, specials areas, warehouse, etc. Only the demo unit on display. The chick was stumped too. Had to start Googling what chemical reactions have a heat catalyst and occur at 65C haha
Hi does it work with low fat or light milk?
@platima
Жыл бұрын
Hey yeah it definitely works, but just slightly differently. At a glance skim milk or low fat froths but does not hold its shape as well, given less fats, HOWEVER, some skim milk is loaded with protiens, and this holds the foaminess even better than regular milk! If you want to know about a specific milk, I can just test it for you! Cheers
Have you tried making gravy in it? I want to try but the wife wont let me🤔
@platima
Күн бұрын
Haha fuck yes great idea. Going to do that... maybe when the missus is out! The one downside is gravy water needs to be boiling ideally, but cannot hurt to try!
@platima
9 сағат бұрын
Unfortunately no bueno. Does not get hot enough. Maybe some gravies would work if it could do 70C, but at 60C it just wouldn't happen!
Mate is it hot though? Every frother I've tried the milk only ends up a touch hot... I like my coffee hot as I can possibly get it.
@platima
Жыл бұрын
Hey yep 60C (140 in freedom units). So definitely bloody hot to the touch. I think in one part of the video I burn myself haha. Much hotter than that and you'll start to cook the milk. I wish it went to 65C so I could cook eggs in it haha.

Oh that is awesome!
wouldn't it be smarter to heat the milk first then froth it ? trying to heat frothed milk is nearly impossible due to all the air bubbles.

Mine works great for cows milk but does not froth almond milk at all ): although some people said it does froth almond milk on kmart reviews? The first one I bought was a dud at didn't turn on at all so I had to go back and swap it.

I have since found out you can add either a 1/4 tsp of corn starch or a spoon of collagen powder to get a thick froth for almond milk...I add collagen creamer to my coffee any way as I like the taste of it ,so now I just add it directly to milk first.@@platima

Hey friend, have you got a different model? If not, did you put the little spring bit in the bottom middle clip?

@platima
Жыл бұрын
Woah take it back to the store, that's faulty. It maxes out at 60C, and that is not enough to burn milk, so yours is certainly overheating!
