You are correct. On all counts. First, I have thought of the fork brace, good idea. But I think a set of Progressive forks is a good upgrade also. And I 100% agree. I have had three gen 1’s. I would not want the 2 or 3. Not rugged looking. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Awesome video, I got a KLR 650 just like yours! Mines a 2005 model year. I have videos on my channel as well doing mods and reviews. The progressive front suspension is an awesome upgrade! Completely does away with the vicious nose dive when braking.

100% in agreement about the petcock, a yamaha 660 Raptor fits perfectly and its manual operated, change your choke to a pull/push one, basically it will almost bulletproof your bike

Thanks. I do need to look into that style choke. My windshield actually hits the existing thumb lever when fully turned. Thanks for the comments and the idea!

Wow, you also put a lot of money in your pocket!😁 I have looked at and sat on the Pan America. Looks like a great bike. But you’re definitely correct, espeas to simplicity. Lot of electronics stuff in the PA that can go wrong. Be safe. Thanks for watching.

I have a theory about those of us who ride a KLR. I don't need to go 100mph and am never in a hurry. I am calm and relaxed and pretty much everyone likes me. For that reason, I will live much longer than the KLR bathers. This proceeds to the next generation, to the next, and the legend of the KLR 650 will live on forever!!

We’ll said! Although I’m riding my Tiger more these days because I get on the interstate alot, I still say the KLR is the greatest (overall) bike ever invented. If you can only have one, that’s the one.

Im pretty much set at getting an old klr as my first bike and now your gonna make me spend even more after i get it lol

Some corrections… the Halfthrottle video I recommended is called “Which dual sport motorcycle is right for you?” Second, the Galfer brake rotor is 320 mm. Not 30!😊

I have looked at that kit many times. When I let off of the throttle, I get the pops. I read that this is not the case with the MCP kit. I am hesitant because I’m not very confident in my ability to properly install the kit and tune it, but I may tackle it some time. thanks for watching and for the comment.

@@goodwinezone2320 the kit comes with extremely detailed instructions. that being said, a loose exh header or header gasket is the most common cause for backfiring
