Klim Marrakesh pant review 2023

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Marrakesh pant mirrors, as you might expect, the Marrakesh jacket; in particular, the 2023 version.
It is woven from a mix of 1000 denier Cordura and Elastane. The loose weave of the fabric means that every single panel of the pant flows air. The Elastane, by contrast, means that this is probably the most comfortable pant you will ever ride in.
Yet it would be wrong to think of the Marrakesh pant as just a regular mesh trouser. It is rated AA under EN 17092. And there are Rukka and Klim Gore-Tex trousers costing over a thousand pounds that don’t rate so highly, so when you wear a pair of Marrakesh pants you’re are not, despite the comfort, trading down in terms of protection. The armour is Level 1, D3O Ghost. Again, very comfortable, but you could upgrade to L2 if you so wished. You also get extra panels of Cordura 500 in the seat for added abrasion resistance.
Feature-wise, there’s not a huge amount to say about the pants. You get two zipped, hand pockets, and the mandatory, pocket for a bear-hunting knife. You get panels of heat-resistant Kevlar up the insides of the legs to prevent the heat from a high exhaust burning the material. There’s more Cordura 500 at the hem of the pant. There’s some reflective detailing scattered about. You get belt loops, but no connecting zip; not surprising really because the Marrakesh jacket doesn’t have a connecting zip either. This having been said, we can sew a zip into the jacket; and by wearing a Halvarssons Waist Zip, you can connect the two halves. The trousers come in three different leg lengths.
A couple of weak points.
First, whilst we love Ghost armour, we don’t think it’s the right stuff for wearing off-road, or in any pant with a loose fit. In extremis, we would go for a set of Ghost knee pockets from Endura, which will clamp the armour in place.
Second. The legs of the pant will not go over an adventure boot; and this we think is a mistake. You can wear a short adventure boot, or something like the Forma ADV Tourer, but nothing with a large, plastic shin protector will fit inside the leg of the pant. That’s a shame. In our view, at minimum, these pants should have come with some form of zip and gusset.

I was knocked of my GS last October landing heavy enough to write the bike off and break 8 ribs, I was wearing Marrakesh Jacket and Pants and Klim enduro S4 over the top, the S4 dealt with the abrasion quite well a few holes, however hospital staff were quite amazed the I got away with superficial grazing knees and elbows, both Jacket and pants are still fully usable and a testament to the robustness of the material, I might consider chest protection in future

Given that these pants have only been on the market for a few weeks, albeit perhaps for a bit longer in the US, it may be that you have worn your Alpinestars inside the old Marrakesh pants. Would these go over a pair of RST Adv boots as they're not the most bulky? I wear thick leather trousers tucked into them usually and comfort's only an issue of the leg length is too long where the hem or zip catches the ankle. If these were available in a 30 or 31 inch leg length then I'd imagine they'd be no less comfortable than my (thicker) leathers tucked in?

Not in a million years will the new Marrakesh pant go over a pair of Klim Adventure boots. You have bought two pairs of Marrakesh pants from us. Your first pair-the old ones- will go over the boots; the new Marrakesh pant won’t. The only other possibility is that we accidentally sent you a second pair of the old ones. The easiest way to check is to look at the armour. The new ones have Ghost armour. But let me reiterate, the new pant won’t get close to going over your boots. CP

@@Motolegends Accents and accent marks are two different things. Written English has no diacritical marks, however, it does have 'accents' which are unmarked when written and employed when speaking. The marvel of English is that it is a mongrel bas***d language full of French, Latin, Greek, etc. But you all knew that. As for 'cousins' in the USA making a "hash" of it, it must be remembered that all language is "fluid". English itself, in England, has radically evolved over the centuries and the USA form is just one more species of the kind. We could say they are all "correct" contextually and all "wrong" when mis-contextualised. I suppose it is one of those, "When in Rome" situations. This should save us all from that very un-English character-flaw of conceit. I may just opt for one of the Mosko pants and the Klim jacket. I repeat, Chris does a great job of reviewing even if his English is from time to time somewhat less than perfect.
