    This is a great everyday, around town jacket. Also good for touring with some temperature caveats. I’ve also done some light adv riding in it and the stretch makes it great for this. I have the Gen1 and will agree with the user comments about temp rating. Flows a lot of air and is great up to about 80-85 degrees. After that a mesh jacket is better. Above 95 I actually prefer a shell type jacket with zips closed to create more of an internal “cocoon” to keep the temp stabilized and not have the hot air continually evaporate your body moisture. But for the majority of riding this is a terrific piece.

    Sweet. I have the previous version of this jacket. I really, really like it, but I was hoping that they would make one with upgraded armor. I will agree that it provides a good deal of airflow, but I would also say that anything over 80 degrees outside, I roast when I’m at a light.

    I have the previous jacket as well. You are correct in that its great until that 80°-85° mark and then after that it gets a bit stuffy. Still, it’s a great jacket and have no issues with fit or comfort with the old armor.

    You could fit CE2 armor in it, but it would definitely show from the outside of the jacket. But the pockets are big enough to fit them.

    No, you'd likely need to tuck into the Sidi Crossfires. This outfit is made for the road so it will fit over most road or touring boots, but won't fit over off-road boots like the Crossfires.

    does marakesh jackets looks good with switchback cargo pants? what are main differences between marrakesh and switchback pants?

  • @omicrondec

    @omicrondec

    Жыл бұрын

    I'd say the Marrakesh jacket looks great with most pants and would pair well with the Switchbacks. The Switchback pants have as much stretch or air flow as much as the Marrakesh pants. The Marrakesh pants should be more comfortable with that stretch and extra air flow; note that the waist does not stretch like the rest of the pant does. I can't remember if the waist stretches on the 2023 Switchbacks when I tried them on. Both 2023 models of pants are CE AA rated for abrasion and come with Ghost CE 1 armor in the knees and hips. The Switchback will not fit over large off-road boots unless you're up in the waist sizes. The size of the legs on the 34W Switchback pants would not fit over my Forma Terra EVO boots. I've seen people say they have no problem fitting the OTB (outside the boot), so my guess is that the legs get sufficiently larger at some point in the sizing. I don't know if any of the Marrakesh sizes will fit over large off-road boots, but they fit over street boots. The cuff of the Switchback has an adjustment strap with buttons that I could not comfortably fit ITB (inside the boot). The Marrakesh has enough material that I question whether or not ITB would be comfortable. I suspect not, but I don't know.

    If you want over The boot pants with The jacket switchback is it. I have a good temperature tolerance and have no issues with switchback up to around 35c have not tried gitter but. I open The side vents and i am fine, hot but begravelse for me. Others might not feel The same though.

  • @RevZilla

    @RevZilla

    Yes, but you would still want to consider your fitment of the Marrakesh with the airbag factored in underneath. You'll need enough extra space for deployment of the airbag (regardless of the jacket / airbag you choose).
