Klezmer music | She'Koyokh.

Музыка

The Klezmer style is, to a large extent, the result of a made-up tradition. Inspired by the Jewish music bands from Eastern Europe, it was reconstructed in the 1970s using old slate recordings and is based on the performance of various repertories with a characteristic style that partly derive from synagogal chant. The ensemble She'Koyokh, one of the biggest names in Klezmer today, performs a repertory that spans the Sephardic to Ashkenazi traditions, and also includes non-Jewish songs from the Balkans.

Canzoni piene d'incanto e malinconia. Mi sembra di essere portata indietro nel tempo e nei luoghi più lontani e immaginari.

"made up" and tradition are conflicting terms. I think the music was a revival typical of a lot of other folk traditions at the time but based on a tradition that is continuous and recorded so we can here the old musicians and researched/collected by Beregovski and others.
