I always look up products and atleast see it in a person's hands before I buy it because I've bought to many things that ended up being junk and typically when a person handles an item you can tell by their voice and everything whether the item feels decent and everything, so good video, there's to many people faking a product review just so it could be sent to them so im glad to see there's Still folks who aren't afraid to speak their mind about products 😊❤️

Great video sir. While I'm not tracing communications or computer wiring, I need to trace electrical wiring and fromknown point A and find endpoint Z and need to find each section in between. What tone and test set would you recommend? Also need to find a hound fault in the line. Any thoughts on how and or equipment? Thanks in advance. ... Jeff

Does this unit automatically shut down? If so, hopefully that can be disabled, otherwise, when tracing or probing for awhile, by yourself, you're gonna have to be move back and forth to ensure the toner is on.... What about the probe's volume control, does it stay where you leave it when you turn the probe off or does it go to a default setting everytime?

I’ve Had This Tone Generator Running For Roughly 20 Minutes And Have Not Experienced Any Time-Outs. The Volume On The Probe Seems To Be Set On A Medium Level Out Of The Package. I Have Not Acknowledged If It Defaults Every Time. I Always Crank The Volume Up On Probes With Every Use.

@@KompleteTechCrew Why I asked is because some auto-off features in Klein tools cannot be disabled, and if you need to probe for an extended period of time, especially at a good distance away from the toner, that can pose a problem, as you can imagine. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a Klein hater, in fact I own hundreds of dollars worth of Klein tools, but these are the "little" things consumers ought to know before buying a product like this. As to volume control, it's always been great to have a simple dial or slider that can be manipulate instantly and kept in whatever position you leave it in. Some techs prefer leaving their probes at max volume, regardless, and so it's good to have that as an option within a toner system like this. For me (and many guys I know who work in the telecomm and electrical fields) to have the option to leave a toner on, indefinitely, and having full control over probe volume are a must.

The toner will time-out in 60 minutes according to the online manual in PDF. The probes volume will not stay set like a manual pot volume control. These two characteristics make the Klein not well suited for large projects or for frequent use. Overall I'm not a fan of Klein for electronic tools. Klein has historically been a mechanical tool company, I have a Klein wire crimper that accepts several different jaws. Just be aware many low cost crimpers have removable jaws but there are no variety of jaws to pick from. In other words just because the jaws are removable does not translate to be able to change the jaws for different crimp duties. Tools with actual changeable jaws are a more premium tool.
