Kizer really is a great company for people like me who can't afford a 300 dollars knife. What you get for what you pay is pretty great. Them and vosteed are my favorite nice but low budget knives.

Tanto's are my favorite blade shape. Kizer has been killing it! Very cool knife and love the name.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago, and it's great!! This is my first micarta scaled knife and I'm on the fence about the feel lol if this knife comes in other scales in the future I'd for sure get another one. Or if someone made scales I'd consider it. My favorite feature of the blade is the line from the tip of the blade to the butt of the handle. That top curvature 🤌🏽

Seems like a good buy; I’ve had my eye on Kizer for some time and this video sold me with the metal on metal music when flipping it open! Love that sound. The blade looks great and the price seems fair! Thanks for another great review

Wow, I usually do not like tantos, but that particular blade shape/profile/silhouette is really nice.

Just not a tan-toe guy but I love button locks and micarta. Hope they do a drop point-ish one.

Kizer button locks are fantastic once you work out the initial stick. My XL Begleiter is an absolute dream now. Love the design and sounds of this one. That finger choil looks perfect. Definitely picking this one up. Kizer is killing it. Thanks

@@GatorAaron it’ll work out eventually. My pivot started coming loose initially so I used loctite to set it properly which seemed to help.

Those Ontario rats get really smooth after a bit 👍, great user . I like the hidden liners on this and the sokoke 👍. It’s one of things that attracts me to a knife lately . I did a para 3 in cF with backspacer and plug and clip and it’s super nice . The manix 2 turned out solid and a bit heavy with titanium so thinking of switching to skinny scales .

Mad Tanto XL please. 4 to 4.5" blade, non-deep carry, tip down clip. Everything else the same.

Good working handle looks comfortable.

I’m bummed I missed out on this, the only one in stock us the black blade. I want the stonewashed blade 😭 hopefully they come out with a ti version

I have a couple of Damned Designs and I like them pretty well. That one looks pretty nice. I think I would like it to be a drop point even more.

i like the micarta backspacer, i feel like steel is overkill for the strength that is required of this part. but i think they should have cut it so the pattern is facing out like the rest of the handle

Got my Mad Tanto in black a few weeks ago, and havent set it down since. The action is getting even more smooth and free with use. My only gripe is that they dont have it in G10. Fingers crossed 🤞 that the aftermarket support is there.

Don't really like the idea of tantos because it seems like they would be tough to sharpen. This looks good, and I might grab one if it were in CPM154 instead of 154CM. Even 14C28N.

Knife looks great, sux I can’t find the stonewashed version available anywhere. Not really feeling the dlc version.

154cm is *not* tougher than M390, according to Larrin Thomas. But M390 does have better edge retention and corrosion resistance. I know some people are bored with it, but M390 is an objectively better steel than 154cm. But I really do like the Mad Tanto. 154cm is a great steel for the price point. Blade geometry trumps marginally better steel.

I think, that that pocket clip was just optimized to sit on top of scales, not nested. That's why that difference isn't so huge.

I really like the look of the knife. I do hope they come out with other color variations, I don't like the green micarta scales but do like the blade. The other version I like the scale color but not the black blade, picky I know lmao (I only see 2 versions at the moment, this one and a black blade/black micarta scale version). Hopefully they come out with more variations, I'd love one with Ti scales

On scales of 1-10, Larin Thomas rates 154CM as 3.5 for toughness, 4.5 for edge retention, and 7 for corrosion resistance. CPM154 as 5, 4.5, and 7. Really wish Kizer would charge a buck or two more and move to using more CPM154, or make a premium one of these in 3V or 4V. And I apologize in advance because I know you hate comments like this, but I'm sort of hoping someone from Kizer will see it.

I’m on my second Mad Tanto. Why? My first one had a MAJOR pocket clip failure and lost it. Clip on this is super tight, but then it loosened up to a cartoonish level.

Thanks for your input I like caffeine too mostly in the form of coffee- monster tastes good too that being said, I am perplexed that you don’t mention the intended use for the said folding knife because isn’t that the buyers intent( just a thought) was a pocket knife champion since a little kid. Thanks for your effort. 0h intended use refers to blade shape and sizeP.S. Purchased a salami a.k.a. Bellamy slicer on your recommendation

Regarding the name of the knife printed on the blade...l have a relatively large collection going back about 35 years and l have knives for which l have forgotten the names and are not currently carried in any catalogue. I have tried several times to find the original names without luck and this makes it difficult to reference these knives in knife circles. So l do see a reason for naming knives on the blade.

Ridiculous. They have in common only use of American tanto blade, bright micarta and country of production is the same.

Folding button not good. You may accidentally press and cut fingers

Why do knife makers use that God-awful looking burlap micarta? Pretty much any other micarta finish looks better, burlap looks like it's unfinished.
