Thank you so much for these uploads! I've been binging them all day! Been a wrestling fan most of my life but i haven't seen too much shoot style outside of some UWF. Keep up the good work! Incredible match too !

Glad you are enjoying them! RINGS is a really underrated promotion and not many wrestling fans know about it in general. Once you get used to the style and appreciate it, it's very easy to enjoy. At least I think so.

    この頃までいわゆるUWFルールで良かった。グランドでの顔面パンチキックありは野蛮に見えてあまり好きじゃない。

This is interesting, I collected AJPW puro from the mid 1990s to the early 2000s and the guy I bought from (middle aged Japanese flea market guy) didn't have RINGS tapes, so I didn't get to see those shows back then then. Watching this, is RINGS basically Greco-Roman puro? Looks like a unique combination.

It's what they called "shoot style," which was a form of pro wrestling that took off in Japan in the 1980s and 1990s. It was designed to look realistic. People often confuse it with being "worked MMA" but MMA wasn't really a concept at the time and fans saw it as "real wrestling."

@@kicksubmissionsuplex1700 That's how I saw it. It looks like "real wrestling" to me, but I assumed too with partial choreography & pre-determined winners like other puro, because a rare couple of the matches go "AJPW style" at the tail end slamming each other lol. I like what I see here watching the other RINGS videos too.

    田村さん、よくわからないのは、なぜ、プロレスラーのくせに、リングに上がったあとに四方に礼をするんだろう? こんな礼儀正しい日本人レスラー。いませんよ?
