As a Kiwi I remember how scary it was coming up against a Kangaroo side with guys like Smith, Lockyer, Cronk, Slater, JT etc in the spine, it almost didn't matter who else was in the team those guys would bring the best out of them, then add in GI, Tate, etc it was a miracle we beat Australia in 2004 ,2005, 2008, and 2010 during that golden era of immortals.

those lot gave the modern game it blueprint, kiwis beat them in the same vein as the current QLD team beats NSW by not sticking to the script I think we'll start to see the game pivot in new direction in regards to game style, far to robotic and manufactured

Unfortunately, those teams were plagued with NSW players. Even in 2014 there were many overhyped NSW players that shouldn’t have been there like Walker, Mansour, Bird, Jennings, etc. The best NSW players around the time were Morris brothers, Hayne, and Cordner.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know the rules but obviously if the defense touches it, it is no longer considered a pass. Plus calling a forward pass went out of fashion in the 90's lol

I don’t know why Australia pulled out of this tournament I think they were scared that the kiwis were getting better and better every year and much of that was because they played Australia every year and we’re starting to adapt to them.. pulling out of this tournament ruined international footy imo
