    For the love of god man!! I finally find a video that looks promising but what are the products you used to 1) seal and fill in the holes and 2) what type of paint did you use that doesn't wash away? Please describe your steps in detail!!!!!!! You're my last hope!

    Hi Mr Smith, thank you for posting your work online, it's really appreciated you give this information out on youtube, since a lot of us can't afford a professional - thank you so much! I wanted to ask - after you remove all the damaged material, what is the first product you add in the hole/ around the surface (at 0:06) and is the second product the superglue (0:07)? After the superglue stage, you go back to the first product - what is the purpose of that stage? is that all so the filler sticks and fits in better?

  • @smithsurfacerepairs2754

    No problem at all. The first stage is to bind the chipboard with super glue and activate it with a spray so it sets faster. I have plans to do more detailed videos of the repair process very soon.

  • @bygrgra

    @bygrgra

    Well not entirely useless. He's said he seals the chipboard with superglue and spray hardner (it'll be something like this: www.screwfix.com/p/mitrebond-aerosol-kit/28848) and then he uses filler (that'll have to be a two part epoxy - he's colour matched it very nicely or he's found a good match to begin with). Then you'd need a hard wearing touch up paint to add the pattern - my guess would be you'd be looking for floor paint. Remember this guy is running a business and trying to make a living and he's willing to sell his skill (which I think this vid demonstrates is considerable). If you can't afford him, by all means have a bash, but skill deserves paying.
