Kitchen looks great! We’ve had paved patio and decking. Personally I would suggest getting paving, as I found decking got really slippery in the winter and it’s quite high maintenance (painting and cleaning etc) x

Totally agree, we had decking in our last house and was a nightmare in winter as so slippy, yes it’s cheaper but high maintenance

Lovely kitchen, great colour scheme. Might look up that kettle, need a new one. Deffo keep the apple tree, so many young families have moved into our street last few years and took down all the trees in their gardens, breaks my heart! Plus, who doesn’t want free apples! I think your patio will look good cleaned up, decking can become a pain and slippery most the year 💧x

Gardens cost a lot to do is what I will say but I wouldn’t recommend decking, we had it in our last house and in the winter is really slippery and needs cleaning and re staining every year. Patio is more expensive but worth it. We had our fencing and driveway block paved last year, our driveway is huge 144 sqm and we went concrete posts in between panels which is expensive. But it was over 15k so I would say that you’d be shocked how expensive it is. Kitchen looks amazing! I can’t wait until we do ours in a few years

I would say to start your garden earlier so it’s ready for summer! I made that mistake last year and when we had nice weather all I wanted was to chill in a nice garden! X

Garden suggestion : I think it would look really nice if you were to keep the patio area but also put a square section of decking at the back of the garden in the left hand corner , you could have a nice outdoor table there or sofa and chairs would be lovely in the summer , love seeing your progress you’ve both done an amazing job ❤️

I love how real you guys are like mentioning you got everything cheap because you’re on a budget, you said the same for the bathroom too! I love it, instead of making out you’re so rich and splashing money, I love to see it , keeping it real✨✨❤️

Such a Lovely kitchen, it turned out so nice! I personally like stone in the garden. Just needs a good power wash. I would keep your apple tree but I’m partial to fruit trees! I have 4 apple trees and 1 pear tree. They are so pretty when they blooming their blossoms. It will be amazing no matter what you choose to do!

I wouldn't advise decking, my neighbour has it & it can be extremely slippy at times. Your kitchen is beautiful, just perfect. Funny I was talking with my mum earlier about how tradesmen never fix up their own, my dad was a mechanic & had his own business & anytime my car needed fixing he was always grumpy with me even though I'd offer to pay! He's my little Robin now ❤ fab vlog lovely 💛🌠✌

Honestly don’t keep the apple tree!! Have one in our garden and although you get nice apples after a while they all fall to the ground and it attracts soooo many wasps🥴 everything looks beautiful tho can’t wait to see the whole house!✨

Kitchen looks amazing. Such a change. If you are going to use the apples from the tree then I’d keep it. If not then get rid. I’d keep the paving and clean it up. Decking is a nightmare when it’s wet (slippy) and eventually rots and cracks.

We used to have decking and changed to slabs, we hated how slippery the decking got and it was way more maintenance. I love my slabbed area. Also my mother in law used to have an apple tree, it was great to pick the apples but they used to die off and just drop everywhere which she used to get so annoyed at! 🥰

I can really relate with you and having a dad whos a builder🤣with living in a house thats a building site, and them finishing paid work to do work on their own home is a lot of effort🤣 LOVE your kitchen, and proud of you guys!!😍❤️xxx

Keep the apple tree imo because Free apples 🍎 🍏 for 50-70 years 🤷🏻‍♀️ Make apple crumble ,apple pie ,apple juice , sliced fresh apple for baby girl she also could pick them when she is old enough

Same here, we moved April 2020 and still renovating. Done driveway, windows, front door, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. However haven’t started on downstairs at all. Currently got a 14 day old baby and two other children so slowed us down a bit 😂

Oh my god! I absolutely LOVE your kitchen! Great taste! ❤️ If I can give you one bit of advice, DO NOT get decking! It’s so dangerous! If it rains or it’s frosty it’s like an ice rink! Even with that special paint you can get. I had a nasty fall not so long ago on ours when it had been raining. Worst expensive decision we ever made! Get the flags jet washed, they’ll come up brand new (and cheaper too!) xx

I went for a matte kitchen, it shows a lot of fingerprints, I find the best way to clean it is a tiny bit of fairy liquid in warm water and a damp cloth 👍🏼 takes all the prints off and doesn't streak. You've done so well with this reno, it looks amazing! 💕

Also, the apple tree seems to hide any windows on the house that overlooks you at the back, so I'd be tempted to keep it to keep that privacy.

Love this blog! I think unless you are going to use the apples on the tree get rid of it as I had one which was big and all the apples fall I’m the floor and then the code eat them and make a mess. So I would get rid of them x

It looks so good and yes being from the US it is definitely different seeing the washing machine in the kitchen but how do you dry your clothes? Is it a washer/dryer combo or do you have to hang dry them? In the US we have a washing machine and a separate drying machine.

I’m using the same dining table as you using the table top to make my office desk in my bedroom

I think you should have the garden with a patio by the doors an then build it up a level and have grass xx
