This is absolutely fantastic -- the use of black, as well as brass and bright wood finishes (allowing for some white in the room) makes for a beautiful combination! :-)

I feel good about a kitchen I designed for my neighbors three years ago in their 1930’s Spanish style home with almost this exact design aesthetic. When I modeled the design in 3D and showed them the renderings with the black cabinets I wasn’t sure about their reaction but they went in 100%. It looks great, just as this kitchen does.

yushi911 maybe but if they live in a climate that’s mostly sunny. A nice moody kitchen on a cloudy day can be quite cozy, no?

@@Junebug8283 I agree 100%! A moody, dark kitchen on a cloudy day just screams bowls of hot soup, soft, warm buttery bread straight from the oven, and the most chunky, comfy blanket money can buy. I love the colors and contrast.

This is one of my inspiration when we remodel our kitchen. I really love black cabinets but I have small space so I went to dark walnut. I also do herringbone in floor using lighter tiles. I hope someone see my remodel and leave a comment.

Absolutely. Besides, who wants to see a kitchen (with the smoke, smells and grease) in the living room. What is wrong with these people who say they can't bear to be away from the guests as they're preparing their meal. Get organized! Most of the meal should be prepared before guests arrive.

What about stains on ikea lerhyttan? Is it problem?

I have a black faucet and pot filler. White quartz counter tops with some veins. Cabinets are white. Island has black cabinets. My dilemma is which hardware would look best. Would brushed nickel, brushed gold, brass, or black look the best? My style is modern. I’m open to ideas. Please help. 😊

Amazing work! Often times, black makes a home or space not look warm or welcoming. This definitely feels like a home yet very modern and stylish.

Love the kitchen! I would not want stains to set in on my counter. That is not my idea on how my family can create memories. I am also not a fan of patina. I would definitely have treated countertops and a lacquered brass faucet and handles.

Wow I really love this design except the open cabinet area. I kind like it to be in close cabinet for neat look. But still, this is very impressive.

I LOVE kitchen islands but in this one instance, I feel that the flow of the kitchen would be better if it had been kept as a galley kitchen. That dining room table was stunning!

The "before" set up was going to be my "after" set up. lol. But if I were to tear down everything, I would switch the positions of the dining room and the kitchen, so that you could have more space to work with for the kitchen.

I agree. Great design I love everything but I would switch the kitchen to where the dining is. Not only it gives more work space but dining overlooking the patio would have been nicer.

Really love this! However... Not sure the next owner will appreciate the "memory stains" in those beautiful countertops!!

The dining table and the chairs are a different shade from everything else around it which creates a disconnection from the kitchen area

Imagine a spider hiding inside that cabinet cup handle and you go for it with your fingers....:-O

Loved everything except those two pictures...one was of different knives and it looks like the other one was of a pig's body....will go back and rewatch to make sure I wasn't seeing things lol

The kitchen itself is gorgeous but I don't understand why everyone buys these beautiful Victorian homes just to gut them? Open concept always looks messy to me during a party. I like having a separate kitchen so that I don't have to worry about pots and pans and visual clutter while entertaining.

The dining table is so uncomfortable and out of sync. Black wall and bare brick wall are easily out of love soon.
