Kit for Making Geodesic Domes

This is our kickstarter video; the kits are now available to buy @ buildwithhubs.co.uk
hubs are simple to snap together joints that make durable geodesic domes fun and easy to build. We're in the process of getting from prototype to product, help us get there by supporting our kickstarter campaign. Thanks! Chris and Mike
Orignial Kickstarter project is here:

Can’t wait to show you guys what we using your dome kit for. Plenty videos to come. Here’s a hint. It’s all science. It’s all electric. It’s all frequency.

Just have bought two kits hoping to connect them and create green house on elevated base. Need to get an idea how to cover them with plastic. :) I will share my experience hopefully within a month :)

Hello, my son wants a small geodome he can use for his boyscout camp outs. Some boys don't have tents and he wants to share. Would these make a serviceable tent?

What size PVC cap will snugly fit over a connector? A PVC cap will screw onto the connector and I think, a piece of wood screwed onto it would serve as a nut to secure it without glue.

kzread.info/dash/bejne/foyd1s-vltGtcZM.html Forgot to post this as it has been up a while but here is the link to my take on this kit IMHO. I have had a lot of fun with it making other shapes apart from the 2V and have found it versatile, reliable and as strong as the materials you would use. I am nothing to do with the firm so you might (or not!) be interested.

Can you make your dome any size, i'm looking for a super large dome like i'm on Mars, it gets super windy here also would that be a problem Are they flimsy like the comments say, cause that would suck

Looncan With 2v I would not go over 15 feet wide cause of weight distribution unless you build supports as you go

@@TheMessenger212 if you check this link kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWakz8mEY5itopc.html the author goes over the differences between the Two structure types and some similarities. But the jist of it is using your kit parts to build the structure hubs kit allows for builds to be between 60 - 90degrees so you can build a pyramid easily enough. In terms of the layout anyway. The major difference is that your pyramid will require internal supports where as a dome is self supporting due to it's structure. I have just got the hubs 2v kit last week and have been looking over the building process and it's quite straight forward. If the geodesic pyramid is the way you want to go I'd look at how complex you want to build it to be,the supports you need internally and the amount of long and short sticks or poles you will need based on how big how want it to be.

@@TheMessenger212 Yeah, if your using it for a stage I'd suggest using the pyramid as an overlay and separate the weight bearing structure from the structural shape of the pyramid that's to say build the stage first as a base to whatever height you want then assemble the pyramid on the top of that base

They are designed for garden structures; fruit cages, arbours, garden shade, etc. Sure, you wouldn't want to build a house or climbing frame with them, but that's not their goal. Are fruit cages only toys because you can't live in them?
