The creators of the Animated Series famously were never satisfied with this design for Scarecrow for featuring an bland, not frightening in any way rendition of the Scarecrow's costume. Producer Bruce Timm reportedly hated the look so much, he immediately went back to his drawing board to redesign Scarecrow. This made Scarecrow the only character to become redesigned during the initial Batman run and in later episodes he has a different and better look.

The creators of BTAS, while they were never satisfied with Scarecrow's initial design in his first episode, they always were dissatisfied with not just his design but the fact that he wasn't actually scary. While his second design is definitely an improvement over the first design, they still weren't satisfied with it at all and never thought he was really scary, and they would always tweak little details about it, which is why when they got to TNBA they decided to redesign him completely and they ended up with the best design Scarecrow has ever had and the best redesign in the entire DCAU. The new and improved design that resembled an undead corpse dressed as a Western preacher with a noose around his neck was just so iconic. They were so proud of the TNBA Scarecrow design that they never want to show Jonathan Crane outside of costume.

@@HobGungan I'm not sending you any articles. I've just seen interviews where they talk about the decision behind the redesign and I know what their thinking process was from it. And by the way, I'm not telling you what your opinion should be. Obviously you are free to have whatever opinion you want and that doesn't make it any less valid than anyone else's. For example, I don't like Star Wars at all but clearly you do for you to have that as your profile picture. It's okay sometimes to have unpopular opinions, like me with what I said and you not liking the TNBA Scarecrow design.

​@@The_PhantasmAnd I think they went too far with TNBA just like every other character which is a big reason I don't like it quite as much as BTAS. Design 2 is *my* Scarecrow.

She's in Arkham, they let you have stuff to keep you calm sometimes. In the Arkham Asylum: Living Hell comic the warden explains it to someone. Like they let Two-Face keep his coin and let Mad Hatter wear paper hats because they freak out without them.

Scarecrows design gets way better later. Can't wait for the Two-Face episodes, they're some of the best. You might also like to check out X-Men TAS (1992) and Spider-Man TAS (1994). They are as good as this, and X-Men 97 is a new show coming this year which is a continuation.

As someone who never watched this version of poison ivy first I was already familiar with the version of poison ivy with her powers being the movie version in Batman & Robin and didn’t use arrows for a weapon I was like lameee but as I’ve grown older I love this version of poison ivy. The way she easily manipulated people with her feminine wilds and her knowledge of poison to make a poison lipstick is really cool. Her mutant plant creations are pretty cool too and this is why she’s my favorite DC villain.

Yeah same, I’m personally not a big fan of her having plant manipulation powers and prefer it if she just has toxin immunity/is poisonous herself and just has extensive knowledge of plant sciences to create these super plant weapons, it gives her character a little more kick

With the additions of her mind control kiss with some versions or her love dust. The version of poison ivy in The Batman was really OP.

Still wierd that her motivation was so pedestrian. Not about just nature. Not about the Green. She was murderous over a single field of flowers.

Not gonna lie poison ivy was a solid villain in the series

Debut of two of the most iconic villains of the series, both of which change considerably in later outings. These visions seem tame compared to the horrors Crane unleashes later. 20:00 Ivy tried to kill Harvey Dent. Noble cause or no, attempted murder is still attempted murder.

I've come to realize most of Batman main rogues gallery seem like regular people who went through some unfortunate circumstances that eventually drives them to insanity and then they inevitably become the villains we know them as.
