This is one of my fav songs ever,I don't want to hear anyone else sing it! Long live the Cat Man!!

It's not just coincidence that my boy the Catman sung Black Diamond, Hard Luck woman, Beth, Strange Ways, Nothing to lose, Baby Driver and Houlagan!!! He was very underrated and underappreciated drummer and vocals, and by far had the best damn voice in the band ever!!!!

Absolutely! I think Gene and Paul were getting concerned about Peters rising popularity when he sang the best 3 songs, hands down, on Rock and Roll Over. Genes voice sucks, not sure how his vocals ever made it to the radio waves. I think that's part of what started the riff in the band. On Peter Criss' worse day he could sing Paul under the table.

Yep, Catman had by far the best voice in the band!!! They, knew it as well, but didn't want to admit it!!! Black Diamond, Hard Luck woman, and Beth are 3 of Kiss fan poll even top 5 songs, and my favorite member and amazing Peter Chriss sung all 3!!! Coincidence, I don't think so, him and Ace were absolutely the best in the band!!!!

Different kind of voice. Gravelly, rough sounding, and PERFECT. Peter was really into Motown, R&B type music . His solo album is a great one, still listen to it now

In his book, Gene claims Peter "asked for permission" to attend the convention, they had rehearsals and Peter's drumming "wasn't up to snuff", but "out of the kindness of his heart", Gene told him he could still play with them and just sing. According to Eric Singer, Peter just showed up, came backstage, said hi, introduced everyone to his daughter, then went back outside. As soon as he left, Eric asked, "Why didn't you ask him to play with us?!" Someone was sent to retrieve Peter, they asked him to join them onstage and he did.

But yet, Gene and Paul seen dollar 💵 signs in Peter and Ace, and had the biggest reunion tour in the history of Rock and roll, doesn't add up my friend!!! I was at the Chicago show on the 96 tour and Peter was amazing and very good still!!! Not buying what Gene is trying to sell!!! Lol

Agreed 💯 percent 👍!!! In his prime especially, he had the best voice by far and drumming wise, unique style jungle rhythm and jazz filled riffs that he incorporated into Rock and Roll!!!

Paul originally wrote the song with plans to offer it to Rod Stewart to sing. And Peter said "Awww, c'mon! This is perfect for me!" And Paul agreed.

I feel the same. Growing up in the 70s as a kid, and having KISS become the phenomenon that they were back in that decade…contributed to some of the best times of my childhood. The music, the mystique…there will NEVER be another time like that. There will NEVER be another KISS. Then, to portray Peter later in life, was literally life-changing.

This song sends shivers down my soul. What a classic!

Paul was very quick to clarify who, "something really deserved" was being directed towards. Oh no, not Ace or Peter, but you the fans. Well maybe, but Ace and Peter deserved an opportunity to thank their fans as well having turned a page in their lives. This ultimately came to fruition and I could not have been more thankful to have witnessed the days 0f '77 in '98!

While in the Navy Way back in the 70's in chicago a dancer i knew on state street would always play this song...she was gorgeous....and every time i hear this song i think of her ... hope you;re well sally

Any KISS fan would know each face. Peter is the Cat, Ace is the Spaceman, Gene is the Demon and Paul is the Starchild. DUH!

Gene's strength as a bass player shows in the moments when he's playing the song, rather than "playing the bass" if that makes sense. In the early days he had the ability to play the rhythm as well as countering the lead guitar.

Brilliant song Loved Kiss Unplugged

Eric Singer confirmed in an interview that it was his suggestion. Peter wanted to bring his daughter down to show her a part of his past. When Gene called Eric to ask if he'd be okay with Peter being here, he said he'd be fine and said that if Peter's going to be there, they should pull him up to play.

peeee-TAH! Not only have Kiss been at a loss without Peter, they lack the charm they had when all 4 had their own chance at the mic. Back then they were more of a solid rock variety show.

He sounded great. And I remember getting this complete VHS bootleg at a record collection booth and I was shocked at how good he sounded. I knew then that the reunion tour was coming.

Me and my friend we there, at the Burbank Hilton in L.A.. $100 a ticket, and they stopped selling booze before KISS went on :( A lot of cool merchandise was on sale there. At one point, some dude ran in the lobby, grabbed some pieces of their costumes that were on display, and bolted for the door! He got tackled by a few guys just as he made it outside, and they took KISS's stuff back. Everyone cheered. As KISS went on, the crowd decided we should all sit down on the floor, cuz no one could see.

Oh HELL yeah this is Peter's song!!! Great job Mr. Criss! Cheers from El Paso Texas.

I guarantee if you play this song to someone who doesn't know it's a Kiss tune, they would think it's a Rod Stewart song. Very glad Kiss kept it instead of giving it to Rod.

That’s another of Paul’s lies. He never intended to give it to Rod Stewart (who probably wouldn’t have given Paul the time of day back in 1976). He wrote the song clearly as a ripoff of Maggie May and tries to explain it away as being written “for” Rod Stewart. Makes for a better story if he “turned it down.” Then Paul can say “it was #1 around the world.”
