Kishor sounds so loud and hoarse in the song, its the worst song of Karz. Maybe its a hit, but worst song.

I have heard another dimension to the Karz song “Om Shanti Om’, possibly from a video interview of Pyarelalji. This song Lakshmikantji wanted to sing himself and actually recorded it too. But Subhash Ghai put his foot down that Kishoreda only should render this. And, of course this was a great decision. Kishoreda gave a mesmerizing performance and credit to Lakshmikant, he acknowledged that Kishoreda’s rendition was amazing, far better than he could ever do. In every live show though, Lakshmikant used to end the performance singing this number! As you rightly commented, there will never ever be a song like this. Jo huwa so huwa, ab kabhi aise nahi hoga. There will never be anyone like Kishoreda! We can of course relish and forever enjoy listening to such numbers over and over again.
