Do not understand why some people talk of Kishore Kumar being untrained singer. End result of any song sung by Kishore Kumar has always proved that he has done full justice to the lyrics, situation, mood and playback of that song. He was a genius, the like of whom is born once in a century.

@sandeepkumar, completely agree with you. It was a good thing that he wasn't trained by a teacher because otherwise he would have been bound by the limitations of his teaching. He was a naturally gifted singer and once in a lifetime phenomenon.

उस दौर के संगीत निर्देशक शानदार थे, नय्यर जी महान संगीतकार रहे हैं, एक निर्देशक का काम है अपने गायक का बेहतरीन लेना और वो किशोर दा ने किया। लेकिन नय्यर जी का तरीका भी बहुत यूनिक था😂

किशोर कुमार से उस क्लासिकल गाने को रिकार्ड करने की सबसे बड़ी मजबूरी ये थी कि ओपी नैयर का रफी साहब से मनमुटाव हो गया था और ओपी नय्यर रफी साहब से कह नही सकते थे लगभग कई साल बीत चुके थे दोनो को साथ काम किये मनमुटाव की वजह इतनी सी थी कि शंकर जयकिशन के एक गीत के रिकार्डिंग में टाइम लगने से ओपी नैय्यर को इन्तिज़ार करना पड़ा जब रफी साहब आये तो वजह पूछने पर उन्होंने वजह बता दी नैयर साहब अख्खड़ मिज़ाज़ के थे वो गुस्सा होकर रफ़ी साहब को वापस लौट जाने को कहा लेकिन सारी यूनिट को वहाँ देख कर ओर फ़िल्म में रुकावट न हो इसलिए उन्होंने तब भी उस दिन रिकार्डिंग की और फिर आगे साथ काम न करने का फैसला लिया

Kishore da in spite of having no classical background sang all the songs given to him se well that the songs became immortal n th till to day they linger in human heart

There is another story regarding this song . The lyric of this song , in a radio interview told that he had requested O.P.Nyar to get this song recorded by Mohmmad Rafi as iit was classical based tough song but he turned a deaf ear to him as Nyar Sab was adamant type of man .He then approached producer Ram Mukherjee and pleaded for Rafi Sahab to sing the song but he had refused to interfere with music director 's job . After the recording , the lyric said that he was spellbound with Kishore Da 's superlative versatility of singing .

Truly he was a genius. Training or not is just a thing of conjecture that we mortals do. Geniuses like Kishore Kumar are much above all such discussions!
