You completely missed the point. This has nothing to do with the Bucs. Gruden just happens to live in Tampa so that is where they went. The trip was about Kirk putting in that extra work to build that chemistry as soon as he can with his receivers. Gruden is known for his great football knowledge. Morris said in his presser that he's sure his former boss said lots about how to be a winning offense and how to handle business. Kirk has known Gruden for years and went to his QB mini-camp before he got drafted in 2012. Gruden is known for his ability to get the most out of quarterbacks. He marveled at Kirk’s character, talent, preparation, etc. In 2014, after Kirk got benched for throwing too many interceptions, he went to see Gruden to study tape and get some feedback. In 2015, Kirk got the starting job. In 2017, when Kirk was in Washington and had some new wide receivers, they went to work out with Gruden.

But they have played the bucs before so why do they need to prepare for? As a bucs fan I am confused

Exactly how is that?? Before this injury, he hadn't missed a game due to injury in 12 seasons. He's never been the highest paid player in the league. After he was franchise tagged twice in Washington, he was the 15 highest paid quarterback. And what about his performance you ask? Kirk’s career passer rating is 98.2. which is the 8th highest passer rating in NFL history…..in NFL history. He’s 5th all-time in completion percentage. His passing yards per game also ranks 10th all-time in the history of the NFL. You know who is a smooth criminal? Guys like Burrow who is injury prone and the second highest paid QB in the league. As a first rounder, he should at least have some Super Bowl appearance. Or Watson. Or Herbert, another first rounder, 4th highest paid and 0-1 in the playoffs.
