Thanks for making this video and giving Kirill the respect he deserves. I live in Ghent, so did Kirill a great part of his life. My wife and I had the honour of being very close friends of Kirill during the last 27 years of his life. As we were in contact almost every day his death came as a real shock to us from wich we did not recover yet, even now more then 3 years after losing Kirill. He was not only a gifted composer, he was also a beautifull person to have as a friend. Rest in Peace our dear friend... we miss you every day. Love from Rik & Nik.

R.I.P master musician, Borislav Slavov took the invisible torch and carried it over to DOS 2 and bg3, but you were there from the beginning, you helped shape the games Larian Studios made with your music.

Thanks for this man. From Russia with love. Here's an English translation of the lyrics sang in Russian in the Mysterious Guest You have come at the appointed hour In the old boarded up house. The full moon shines outside the window, Reflected in the apples of your black eyes. Chorus: Who are you? Who are you? I didn't have to wait. Who are you? Who are you? Who are you, the mysterious guest? The heart is pounding, the body is shivering. After wiping off a sudden fright, You outline a circle on the floor with your chalk And quietly read the spell. In the mirror on a dirty wall, His silhouette blinked. A light stroke of the wing and you are gone. A moan will drown in the silence of night. (Chorus) And when the star fades away, Morning will throw a sneaf of fire in the house, Voices will be calling for you, But you're gone in the darkness forever.

I was just wandering around the internet and thought about Kirill, and decided to visit his site to check any possible updates after so much time. I discovered a link to his fan page on Facebook and...I'm right here now. And I almost crying. Kirill is one of the most important people in my life. He was a source of my inspiration, motivation and he was even kinda my mentor. I can't say that we were friends, but we had plenty of good conversations for 2-3 years. I was playing Divinity 2 for that moment and during one of the moments of the game, a track that called "Festival Of Immortals" began to play. And I was like "Fuck, that's some serious shit". I continued my walkthrough, and one musical masterpiece was followed after another. The whole soundtrack is one big masterpiece. I began to listen to his personal albums and other OST's. That was phenomenal. Then Larian Studios began Kickstarter campaign for first Original Sin. And I didn't know that I was waiting for more - game or soundtrack from Kirill. After listening to Original Sin OST my ears were destroyed by another amount of masterpieces. After Original Sin, I began to listen to Kiril'sl music even more. I won't lie if I say that I listened to EACH of his tracks about hundreds of times. I was so inspired. And I understood that I want to do one thing - say huge "thank you" to him. I discovered his social page, wrote to him about my thanks and admiration and were thinking that that's all, and all I have to do is just listening and waiting for new music. But what was my big surprise - he answered me. After that, we began our conversation. That was one of the best periods of my life. I was so happy and carefree... Spring of 2015. He disappeared from any social networks, and we(there were fan page and a bunch of his fans)began to worry about that. I was the most pessimistic about this situation and suggested that he maybe have some problems with health. For more than a month, he didn't appear anywhere. June 1. I was surfing the internet and had seen the news - Kirill Pokrovsky passed away today. I was fully destroyed. I felt like I lost a precious friend. It's really hard to explain. Kinda ironic that I was right about his disappearance. He just turned 50 at spring. I will never understand why good people always leave us so early. More than three years have passed since his death. I feel better about him now, but it still makes me very sad. As a real musical nerd, Kirill is still one of my favourite composers. As a Russian, music of Kirill have really big meaning for me, because of Slavic roots that I can hear in it(it's hard to explain, but trust me). And now - thanks to you. It's sad to understand, but I'm afraid that Kirill with some time will be undeservedly forgotten. But thanks to people like you, someone can discover his music and someone can just remember him one more time. And I will remember him until my very end. And I will tell people about him. His legacy will live in our hearts. Thank you. Thank you very kindly.

My favorite songs from Divine Divinity are "Run, Zandalor, run!" while in the Elven forest and "Scorching Wind" in the desert after you have ascended. They just fit the atmosphere so well and are the most memorable moments of that game for me. The Divinity 2 expansion also has a great song called "Lanilor Lane" which was named after the elf Lanilor from the start of the Divine Divinity game. The player has the help Lanilor find a cure for his wizard friend, Mardaneus, who went mad. The city, Aleroth, in the Divinity 2 expansion is the same as the starting area in Divine Divinity but many years had passed between games and is now a full-fledged city. There is a lot of passion in the story and music of this series and is one of my favorite game music alongside Baldur's gate 2.

Divine Divinity's main theme gotta be one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, it instantly sets up the atmosphere for the game. Sound design in videogames definitely deserves more recognition and love. RIP Kirill.

Kirill was the guy who brought heaven heaven down through his music. And now hopefully, after making the deal of selling his soul to heaven, heaven took him up there. Tongue in cheek but his music is really divine. There's a lot of brutal and hellish music out there - too many people selling their souls to the devil I guess, but there's never enough heavenly music. Thank God for Kirill.

When I played original sin DE with my friend, I would constantly comment on how good the bgm was. One that particularly stands out is when your characters walk into the white witches cabin, and her theme song plays. Just plain gorgeous. The song is a reworked version of his earlier work I think called aleroth healer house which is also nice. I'm currently playing Divinity original sin 2 DE and though I'm enjoying this game I have yet to come across music that evokes the same experience where I can't help but comment on the beauty of the piece I'm hearing. Really miss his work. Thank you for the video and thank you for your work Kirill. Rest in peace.

I've been playing through Divine Divinity and loving the music. My first Divinity game was Ego Draconis, I bought it because I loved the dragon on the cover. The music was something particularly special. Thanks for sharing your experience with Kirill's music! It's so unique and has a special, rare quality to it. Super inspiring to me as a composer too. for someone who played divine divinity back when it came out, i realized rite there that i was listening something truly special. It wasn't sounded like a generic rpg music that was around all the time. It felt like someone is pouring emotions into notes of every song. This made kirils music rly feels unique and stands out, transcend the game and grow life on its own. RiP maestro, ull be sorely missed.

The music is what drew me into the original Divinity way back. I so loved that game that I bought the German version of Divinity II because for some reason that was released many months before the English release ... along with a dictionary since my German was not so good. But the music ... dang, he added so much soul into these games with it.

There is only one music, ONE music that I can listen to for an entire day without getting tired of it. It's Bitersweet Regrets, from DOS. It's not the greatest music of Kirill, but if one music could rythm my life, it would be this one.

The first time when i played Divinity OS was in 2016 and i remember how i launched that game and spend a lot of time just at main menu listening for the main theme. Later, I discovered a much more works of Kirill and still listening them today. I feel really sad that such a nice composer passed away so early... :-( P.S. Best compositions in my opinion: Rambler from Slavs Memories of the future Watching the Clouds Drunk with dwarven mirth Mysterious guest Power of Innocence Source Hunter Bittersweet Regrets

You know, I'd put original sin 2 in a mix of your categories. between the 2nd and third, weighing on the third. I absolutely loved the music in it. It all fit well and was strong emotionally. The other games, they were on a level of their own though.

Mysterious Guest - Таинственный гость . Divinity - Original Sin. OST (The English translation follows ) --------------------------------------------------------------- You have come at the appointed hour In the old boarded up house. The full moon shines outside the window, Reflected in the apples of black eyes. Chorus: Who are you? Who are you? I had to wait a short time Who are you? Who are you? Who are you, mystery guest? Heart is so pounding, body shivering After fading of minute fright You outline the circle on the floor with your chalk And quietly read the spell. In the mirror on the dirty wall His silhouette will blink Light stroke of the wing and you are gone. Groan will drown in the silence of night. (Chorus) And when the star will fade away, Morning will throw a sheaf of fire in the house, Voices will be calling for you, But you're gone in darkness forever.
