I think the unused Kirby dead page was meant as a placeholder for when the pause screen was accessed while you’re waiting for an ally to give you an extra life. Nightmare in Dreamland’s multiplayer had a pause screen if you were out of lives saying “Being careful only takes a moment, but injuries last a lifetime…”

​@@MNGoldenEagle Well all the demo ability pause screens has the same kanjis as that one, so probably the one who's waiting for allies to give an extra life is the one who paused the game, and that "Continue Game" just means unpausing. Supporting that theory is that the icon on the bottom right is the same "Wait" icon used in Nightmare in Dreamland when you're waiting to respawn.

In the HL port of the demo, that screen got removed and was replaced with an image of Mametchi on the Tamagotchi Connection. This was an screenshot taken by the HL Nintendo owner, Naboshi Debajuki the 3rd. Naboshi also works for Bandai Namco HL, Ltd. as the Tamagotchi Development Leader.

The unused pause screen with the dead kirby is in my opinion something leftover from Nightmare in dreamland, when you die in multiplayer and you have to wait for the other player to clear the room to proceed. This can be confirmed further by the image of Kirby in the bottom right which corresponds to the "Wait" state in Nightmare in Dreamland. But since in the final game you dont have to wait for the other player when you die in multiplayer this got removed.

Alternative title: "Kirby And The Amazing Prototype"

​@@andrew_stampsbecause the clock enemy is listed under tokkōn, and tokkōn is derived from the word for time (Toki) , mixed with the sound a clock makes as it ticks. It is not derived from Tokkou lol

Alright, so more research was done and apparently the old logic was wrong, Stoppy IS the watch lookin' fella!

I love Kirby and the Amazing mirror. The conecpt of having a metroid vania styled kirby was always cool to me. I wouldnt mind if another Kirby game was made in a similar way

Hell yeah this is awesome man. Kirby is one of my favorite series ever and amazing mirror is great I spent so much time on it as a kid even thought I would always get stuck or lost and just run around exploring. Once I got a littler older I played it again and it became one of my favorite Kirby games it’ll be awesome when it’s on the switch with online multiplayer

This is my favorite Kirby game of all time. I've played through it more times than I can count, and I still remember picking it up at the big case of used gameboy games at Gamestop for the first time. That feeling of adventure, being able to go through the interconnected areas, trying to find new pathways each time. Not only that, but having the other Kirby's explore the world themselves, even areas you aren't even in made the world feel so alive, and despite never having anyone to play it with, the ai made me feel like I wasn't playing alone. Some areas having minibosses with unique abilities to use, others having unique puzzles that require teamwork. The game's world felt so big, even giving you a map to keep track of where you are in it. Nothing felt better than finding those chests with a new Kirby color in it. I prefer this type of exploration as opposed to a level selection screen any day. I might be wrong, but isn't this the only Kirby game that had that kind of open world? In any case, this game deserves so much praise, even today.

Are we sure those enemy names are matched correctly? The little windup-looking fellow looks more like a STOPwatch to me.

funny thing is that i played the prototype on one the the website that i use to play old games and i noticed when i played it that there were already a lot of BIG changes to the levels and others so this video can get me more info about the prototype of the game (that i hate) and learning about it's history and might learn more about the prototype that i played months ago

I don't know what's weirder, the fact that they changed minor details like the ocean's gate tops and the color of the level icon brackets, or the fact that people noticed

If that's the case with ghost Kirby then it can certainly be possible that Animal could have also been originally introduced in this game but only magic got that chance but didn't have a full moveset till squeak squad. So amazing mirror probably could of been the game to introduce ghosts and animal along with magic but they probably didn't had enough time so they add it in squeak squad.

I hope this game gets a remake with split screen it’s so hard to play now
