Wikipedia says that it translates to Kirby's Sparkling Kids, which isn't really different, but that's what think of it was for that reason. It's also the name the Game Boy version had, since this is meant to be an enhanced port; the only reason I find that interesting is that most people probably don't know that (that's how it often is for obvious reasons), and since the fan community gave it the name Kirby's Super Star Stacker, most people who are aware of this game might assume that it has a different name from the Game Boy version in Japanese, when it doesn't, not that I can see that misconception catching on when most people probably never heard of this game (come to think about it, I don't think a lot of people know about Star Stacker at all).

@@TheMGMfan Actually, the reason They call it SUPER Star Stacker is likely the same reason that we have SUPER Mario Kart or SUPER Castlevania IV: Because of the console. Also, you cannot trust the american game names really. For example, Kirby's Adventure was remade as Nightmare in Dream Land, even though A) It's a remake of Adventure and B) Its name in Japanese reflects that (Kirby of the Stars: Dream Fountain's Story is the name of K'sA and Kirby of the Stars: Dream Fountain Deluxe is the name of KNiD).

As Antdude explains in the video, Kirby's Avalanche (and in spirit Mean Bean Machine) are the non-Japanese versions of Puyo Puyo 1. Mean Bean is Puyo Puyo for the Genesis, while Avalanche is Puyo Puyo for the SNES (even though it released after Puyo Puyo Tsu was released in Japan, lol). Hopefully I cleared it all up for you. ;-)

Great video! I would've mentioned the fact though that the Super Famicom version of Star Stacker/Kirakira Kids is by far the hardest to find and most expensive Kirby game out there, so most people wouldn't just go looking for it :D

I actually love playing Kirby's Dream Course in single player.

Kirby's Block Ball has one of my favorite Game Boy soundtracks. Its boss theme is far more intense than anything you'd expect to hear in an Arkanoid clone.

that's because in the America the only Puyo Puyo games that came out are Puyo Puyo 2(which was only in arcades in America), Puyo Puyo Tetris(which came to America THIS year), and Puyo Puyo(which is in the sega classic collection which came out in 2015).

With most of Puyo Puyo's games basically being Japan exclusive and the gameplay sometimes being within other games, it's obvious as to why people barely know about it. So, I looked back at 4:29, and I noticed something. That moment looked oddly familiar, so I went and looked, and I was right, he used a clip of The Runaway Guys playing this game. Well, thats odd.

Gryll is weird because she shows up a lot in little cameoes throughout the series (she even gets a place on the puzzle picture of all the final bosses in Star Allies and a spirit in Smash Ultimste) despite the fact that unless you're a Kirby trivia nerd you're not going to know who she is. Also the Observors show up as a sticker in Planet Robobot so there's that.

A lot of these spin-offs would make great mobile games. Also, I'd love to see a video on cancelled Kirby games. If you haven't done that already.

I never knew that about the Masked Dedede theme. That's pretty interesting. It's nice to find that some things have deeper origins.

I didn't know there were this many Kirby spin-off games. Tilt N' Tumble looks pretty cool especially considering that it used motion controls before they were a thing.

Interesting thing about the Kirby Tilt and Tumble on the game boy advance player for the Gamecube: A guy at the 2017 AGDQ actually did a speed run with a Mario DDR mat and the Gamecube in his hands. Put in a really respectable time too, considering the odd controls.
