According to Kirby Lore Magolor wanted the crown because it granted him power but he had no Idea the crown would corrupt his mind and turn him evil. Thankfully in later Kirby games he redeemed himself

This series really was awesome, I'm sad I couldn't catch all of the streams live, but I'm going back through them when I can, and honestly every moment I was smiling, you guys are all really cool together, and it was great to watch that.
