Kink Without Sex in Love and Leashes

Although not explicitly stated to be Asexual representation, the South Korean Netflix film Love and Leashes shows a fascinatingly sexless BDSM relationship that resonates with many Aces.

I lived in Korea for a year and can confirm that its pretty normal to get packages to your work. In some areas, there apartments in weird corners around alleys etc that just make it easier to get packages somewhere else.

i don't live in Korea but in my country when i get a package delivered home, they mostly don't even try to deliver it and send it to a collection point. So i often sent packages to work, because there's reception there and they can't say that no one was home

I usually listen on Spotify, but as soon as I saw this, I had to jump on it! I love this movie and its cast! I've also been a huge fan of Korean dramas and movies for a very long time, and just wanted to point out a couple things: 1. While I can see the Ace coding from a Western perspective, it's really common for sex to not be an element of a romantic comedy/drama in Korea. The ones that have it are often outliers and it almost always occurs deep into the relationship of the two characters. Women expressing desire is still a massive taboo, so there's a lot of social issues there that someone not used to those cultural aspects might not pick up on. 2. Tbc, Ji Hoo didn't just kiss Ji Woo in that scene - he forced her down on the bed and there was a pretty implicit suggestion that things were getting sexual. I read it as Ji Hoo realizing how much he was falling for her and his desperation to hold onto her (by making it a fully sexual/romantic relationship. What I've noticed about Korean romances in general is that they have a very demi vibe to them, so the Ace reading doesn't surprise me at all. Characters usually have to get to know each other and develop a full relationship and emotional bond before they even so much as kiss. Hugging and holding hands are HUGE deals. Etc etc. Oh, also wanted to mention how the scene with Ji Hoo seeing his ex again really contrasted his scene with Ji Woo where she berates him consensually. It was painful to watch, but I appreciated how they included it to show the difference between actual abuse and consensual kink. It was really good! Great ep over all! Really happy y'all watched the subs as well...Korean actors are often really elite (much smaller pool) and watching them dubbed is like cutting the quality in half!

It's interesting to me how people always think we are queer because of trauma. Like yes Im a queer ace and I do have trauma but I've done enough thinking to know that they are separate. And I would still be ace even if I didn't experience it. Also a very interesting movie!

Omg can't wait to hear this when I get home, I loved the love and leashes Webtoon and the movie as well. I don't consider both of the works as ace rep, but I love how they show kink as something other than completely sexual. It's a bit like anti fifty shades, like kink, but with all the safe sane consensual, all the communication and information and research and little to no sexuality

Oh this was an important episode. Went from no opinion on kink to like feeling an excitement now. I wanna know not just from aces, but from kinksters esp ace ones what they thought of the movie.
